Kam Fook Seafood Restaurant was opened following the success of a restaurant bearing the same name in Chatswood. The restaurant is renowned for its yum cha which runs from 10:00am-3:00pm daily. Kam Fook also acts as a restaurant where you can order a variety of Cantonese-style entrees, rice dishes and main courses such as the sizzling spicy king prawn. This seafood dish is a favourite amongst patrons.

The ambience is sophisticated, with imported Chinese furniture and white table cloths. The seating capacity of six hundred also adds to the atmosphere, and makes it difficult to believe that Kam Fook is situated metres away from shoppers at Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction. This all renders Kam Fook ideal for large bookings, especially weddings, parties and work functions.

    Kam Fook is not just for yum cha during the day. We decided to visit on a Saturday evening recently. It was quiet, perhaps their patrons were still away on holidays. At this restaurant, one can point at the water creatures in their aquarium to pick out what you wish to eat - don't do this at home. As there were 9 of us, we sat at the furthest end from the entrance at the large table.

    It didn't take long before we were given menus to choose from the numerous dishes. The menus were a bit tattered and old (not in line with the overall quality of this restaurant) but I was quite taken aback by the number of dishes they offer. From experience, too many menu items meant that the kitchen can be disorganised and foodstuff less than premium condition. However, this was not the case when our food came.

    Table service was a little disappointing due to seemingly inexperienced waitstaff but the head waiter was good help and saved the day. The waitstaff had spilled sauce from a dish due to holding it at an angle. Placement on the large 'Lazy Susan' was also quite haphazard as they try to fit all the dishes in. We were happy all dishes came out almost within 10 minutes. We ordered 9 dishes ranging from a fish, a beef, a couple of chicken, prawns, tofu, a fried rice and vegies. All dishes were presented well and tasted delicious. We would be back more often if it was not for the high end pricing and eating standard which this restaurant represented. When you have important dinner guests, this place will fit the bill - not your suburbia Chinese restaurant, unless you know a good one.

    Delicious yum cha daily with a wide selection of dishes. Easy to get a table during the week, but there can be quite a queue on the weekend. We've eaten here so many times I've lost count and the food is always excellent. They also have an extension menu and wine list.

    Only thing is sometimes the wait for a table to have yum cha for lunch can be a little to long however the steamed food is great especially the chicken dim sim & prawn dumplings the noodles are a little to oily

    loved the food and we didnt have to wait too long for a table, even when it was super busy! as soon as we sat down we were offered a dish which was good too. the service has improved, with friendlier staff that actually smile and nothing seems to hard for them anymore. only thing is, some dishes can be a bit oily...

    It's nice to see some quality yum cha places outside of the city. Great seating (Huge comfy chairs) and plenty of room to maneuver between tables & trolleys! Great service. Just get in early so you get all the best dishes and a table

    This is one of the best yum cha restaurants in Sydney. The only downside, you cannot book for lunch, so be prepared to collect and ticket and browse the shops for an hour if you go on the weekend. Once you get inside the food is amazing, lots of it, and you will not leave hungry! Beautiful steamed dumplings are the best!
