Nice rustic cafe with quaint little table to sit on the foot path and people watch. Very nice place for a coffee or casual bite to eat.

Kawa is a funky little cafe very suited to its location in Surry Hills. While the tables and chairs fit with the overall aesthetic, they aren't really conducive to a long lazy meal but with such a big selection of yummy food on the menu, you won't be uncomfortable for long. Absolutely love the fresh fruit and veggie selection showcased at the counter - and be warned, the large juices are ginormous and definitely worth the $9 (pic provided).

Very chic and cool looking cafe on Crown, and everything is organic. Be sure to get in early as this place is relatively small and fills up quickly.
I had the big breakfast with a couple of sides, the rosti was thin and crispy - YUM, and the homemade baked beans were very tasty. The only downer was my eggs weren't running, and no one likes a hard poached egg :(

Cute little cafe on Crown Street with miss matching tables and chairs some of which are outside on the foot path which is perfect place to relax on a sunny day. All their food is fresh and delicious. I've had delicious eggs for breakfast here and a light summery pumpkin salad.

Organic everything, one of the best venues for breakfast on Crown Street, busy little joint, was renovated last week but has kept its cool Victorian style appeal. Full of trendy Eastern suburbs peeps, grab a seat outdoors to catch the mid morning sunshine.

Quaint little Crown St cafe with no shortage of secret charm. If you're lucky enough to snaffle one of the handful of rustic outdoor tables you can soak up the sun, savour the coffee and watch as Surry Hills pulses around you.
All organic produce, all day-breakfast too, and reasonably-priced. For lunch, a variety of enterprising salads, and the chicken meatball sandwich enjoys a formidable reputation.
Vintage decor and unique artwork conspires to create a distinctly European feel.
Service is laconic, but not aggravating... all-in-all highly recommended.

The food and coffee is pretty standard for Surry Hills. They have their good days and off days, depending on the staff that's on. They've recently changed how you order food, you used to have to order it at the till but now they have table service and laminated menus! hooray!

But the number one reason I keep on going back is because they have the best outdoor seating that seems to soak up all the sun all the time. And very dog friendly. I love going there on sundays, chilling out the strolling past the vintage stores next to it.

The service is pretty slow and the coffee isn't anything to write home about, but I always keep coming back there. I suspect it's because of the chicken balls on turkish bread sandwich - superb, really. Nice little cafe to rest your legs after a day in Surry Hills, but it can be difficult to find a table at times.

Kawa is cool. The best way to describe this little gem. True the Service is not super swift or in tune but, that is the kinda place it is. Imerse yourself in the lifestyle of surry hills and, slow it down and, just hangout at this little cafe. The food is good the coffee is good, mid priced not cheap but not exxie. If you can get a table outside late in the morning you can waste away a couple of hours chatting and, watching the people pass by. On a Saturday the view is even better as all the fashionista's roam up and, down between the vintage shops near campbell st and, the pubs in Surry hills that they frequent in the afternoon.
