Being a coeliac it is hard enough to find decent food for me to eat on the coast. Upon entry to the restaurant we were informed that "Everything is gluten free except the spring rolls". Deciding to dine there, we chose a table and sat down. Yes they were busy but we sat there for over twenty minutes without water, or being asked for our order. A family sat down next to us and was fussed over straight away, we were still ignored for a further ten minutes, when finally our order was taken. While we had to wait for over an hour for our food, we were given the cutlery from the table next to us (the family clearly had the sense to walk out!). Our drinks come about thirty minutes after we asked for them, and we were treated as a pain for ordering them. When our food finally came, it wasn't as impressive as we were lead to believe. It was only slightly warm and we found hair in the bottom of our rice. Not wanting to spend another second of our lives in there, we went and paid $53 dollars for two dishes, some hair filled rice and two drinks. Don't eat here, ever!

Having travelled to Vietnam in 2009, I was so excited to find a Vietnamese restaurant on the coast!
The food is delicious and fresh, the meals are a decent size, the price is a little more expensive than similar in Cabramatta but that is not unusual for the Central Coast and totally worth every cent. Kim and his staff have been lovely and friendly every time I have been there. My favourite restaurant on the coast and I will be going back again and again!

I also was excited to have a vietnamese restaurant on the Cental Coast, then I went there .

I agreee with angry123 except we had a dine in experience in lieu of takeaway.

The evening didn't start that well we had to speak to 3 different wait staff to finally be shown to our table that we had reserved. We then had to wait more than 15 minutes till anyone came near us to provide menus or should I say menu as we were only given 1 between 5 people. It then took even longer to get some wine glasses so we could drink our wine as it is a BYO that you are paying a $3.00 per head corkage to open your own wine that by now is getting warm as we have not yet been provided a wine cooler. When I decided to question staff about only being given 1 menu for 5 people and how long we have had to wait for things I was told "That they were trying their best and what did I want them to do" I suggested that perhaps a menu for everyone at the table might be helpful. We did finally got to have menus for everyone at the table lucky us or perhaps not the prices are quite expensive with the mimimum banquet price being $40.00 per head a little expensive for Asian cuisine on the Central Coast. We decided to order a banquet after working out it would be a cheaper option for the amount of people at our table we ordered the $50.00 per head one. Our ever so professional waitress kept walking past our table and constantly saying oh sorry which got qiute annoying after about the 8th time. I then asked to see the manager who eventually came to our table I expressed my concerns regarding the evening to which he didn't quite understand. He asked me also what would I like him to do I suggested that we would not be paying the corkage to which he agreed, he also told us that we would not be disappointed in the food. We finally got some food we were given chicken sate sticks which were not part of our banquet I told the waitress that this dish was not part of what we ordered she was sure that they were I then asked her to get me a menu so I could show her what we ordered. I asked to see the manager again to point out that agan the service was disappointing he tried to tell me that he had decided to sent this to our table and I had to point out that we don't eat chicken thats why we had to order the more expensive banquet. The food was nice and the flavours fresh but for the amount of money we were paying it was not worth it. The final dish we received was a steamboat which I guess from the menu may be a signature dish. We were presented with gas camping stove to cook the dish at the table it took ages for the liquid to heat to the point to actually cook the seafood and was quite disappointing.

This restaurant was not a great dining experience the service was terrible. This restaurant needs to understand that the tourist trade is a very seasonal thing at The Entrance and the rest of the year they need to rely on the local trade which I won't eat there again nor recommed anyone else to eat there. Word of mouth is a great advertisment for a restaurant I won't be talking about this one in a positive light.

Finally a REAL vietnamese restaurant on the Central Coast. The service was friendly, the food was fresh, the prices were a little higher than you would pay in Cabramatta but a good meal and experience all round. Would definitely go back.

Firstly I have to say I was hesitant about going to this restaurant after reading the only review and seeing how disappointed 'angry123' was. I am one of them people that like to experience things for myself and thought I would give it a crack despite the negative review.
When I walked in the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I had made a booking and was given a selection of tables to choose from. The place looked very nice and is in an old heritage style building at The Entrance which makes it stand out amongst the rest of the shops. It has an old style look about it. The menu is written in english accompanied by the vietnamese name of the dish. There is a wide variety which includes seafood. If there are four or more people there is also a selection of banquets to choose from. There were three of us in total so we ordered an entree each and a main each to share, with a couple of rice side dishes.
When the food came out we were not disappointed, It came out in a timely manner and the flavours were unbelievable. Throughout the night the staff were always very friendly, knew the menu and always willing and able to explain anything asked of them.
There are some dishes that do require explaining like the beef camp fire. A meal you cook yourself at the table. The beautiful waitress explained it comes out presented in a bowl with a dish below it with a flame. you sit there and watch it cook in the bowl before your eyes then wrap it in your own rice paper with salad and vegetables. Turns out very nice.
There is no bar at the restaurant however there is a bottleshop a short walk away and your welcome to bring your own for a reasonable corkage fee of $3.
Overall a wonderful dining experience. I am looking forward to dining there again and trying some other dishes on their menu.
Very glad I went and checked it out for myself.
And, thought I should mention the salt and pepper squid was the most tender and nicest I have ever eaten, so if your a fan of that dish do yourself a favor and go and give it a try.

Let me start by saying this is the worst experience we have had with a restaurant on the Central Coast.

We first had to wait around while the staff slowly looked up the prices. They then told us $27.50 without discount applied as advertised. I presented my eftpos card to pay, but was told to fix this up when we returned. (why would we be made to wait around while they add this up for 10mins??)
After returning to pick up our take away we payed for our meal which was now suddenly $35.50 with out 10% discount as advertised. When questioned about this I was rudely cut off with it being added up wrong (as if enough time wasn't allocated for this exercise). No sooner had we reached the foot path we where chased down by the waitress (in a crowded environment) to be told there was a mistake with their eftpos machine and payment didn't go through.
We returned to settle payment where the staff yet again was on their mobile which resulted in roughly 7 attempts to put both our payment and friend's payment through. I voiced my frustration by advising that perhaps they could get off their mobile so we can pay and go home with HOT food! I was looked at with attitude by 3 wait staff (this does not surprise me). I find it VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to have only 1 line when running a business!!!

We returned home to cold food (it was a 28 degree day). To further find a measly meal consisting of a $16.00 Mongolian Beef dish in a tiny take away container (12 tough strips of beef) with a very watered down sauce, 6 Spring rolls that where over cooked and burnt, 3 Rice paper rolls that where also not up to standard for the price, sauces supplied for both spring rolls and rice paper rolls sadly had the most flavour!!!

In prestigious areas in Sydney's North Shore we have ordered the exact same items from Thai/ Vietnamese Restaurants for less cost, more food and far better quality!!

Very disgusted in the Customer Service, the food, the price and the fact that we not only didn't get compensated for THEIR mistakes, we where OVER CHARGED!!
