Smooth music, great art work, food and wine expert female at front of house compliament Chef Sara's innovative dishes. Spotless open kitchen and a concentration on organic and locally sourced produce helps make this a favourite place for us locals.

My friends and I have dined at Kis Cucina a number of times. I have always found the food to be of a consistently high standard with robust and interestingly combined flavours. I love the seasonal changes in menu and to try the different wine suggestions. There is attention to freshness, detail and service and I find the place has personality.

When we dined there we had to sit outside...even though it was the middle of winter we obliged. The restaurant must be doing something right because it was packed on a week night. Meals are pricy but the portions are somewhat reasonable. Our waiter explained everything in so much detail that I probably could have gone home and cooked it myself. It became a little annoying but it showed his professionalism. Get the Italian hot chocolate.

The meaning of the name is “keep it simple kitchen” and that approach to quality European and Australian ingredients is what keeps diners coming back. The mood is relaxed and casual, with alfresco conviviality under the shade of a poinciana tree. The menu is seasonal and accompanied by a list of Australian boutique wine. Dishes include salt and pepper calamari with balsamic and bush lime aioli, and pumpkin risotto. Desserts are made from scratch, with bittersweet chocolate pudding with liquorice lime syrup a highlight. Mains average: $31.
