After agreeing on the service and price, I was then 'upgraded'. This 'upgrade' included things of a very similar fashion to what we agreed upon - i.e. hair, colour and cut. But it was the little things that kept being added to the bill that made this experience the worst i've ever had. At checkout I paid almost double to what was agreed upon, these little extras which shouldn't warrant these ridiculous prices. Keep a tab on all additional extras.

Had a great haircut recently at L'Etoile Elite on George St in Sydney. I've been looking for a reliable place to get a decent haircut either in my lunch break or after work that is right in the heart of the city. I've found it in L'Etoile. Excellent atmosphere and remarkable 19thC building. Feels very European and with honest and easy to deal with staff.

The worst hair salon I have ever been too. Asked for golden caramel foils in my blonde hair and ended up with a very ashy (nearly grey) light brown hair.
Went to another hairdresser straight after and they said it was so ashy and over toned you can only see the foils at my scalp and then they disappear into a block solid ashy grey brown. One of the sides was darker than the other and had even a green tinge!
Haircut was uneven and the other hairdresser pointed out uneven chunks cut out of it they felt so sorry for me they offered a complimentary cut to fix up the mess.
What was worse about this whole situation was how rude and snobby they were when I re entered the shop saying that my hair was very ashy grey and that was not what I asked for at all. They dismissed my comments saying it looked perfect even though it obviously didn't! They were so rude and made me feel so uncomfortable coming back in that I was nearly in tears. They made me point out exactly what I thought was caramel on a colour chart and when I mentioned that I went to go ask for other hair dressers help they walked out on me saying they didn't want to hear another word.
They eventually tried to fix it a bit by putting a gloss through it and washing it once but it still looks grey can see no foils. Other hairdressers told me today that because they put no caramel in it today stripping the grey colour out of it will bring my hair back to what it was before I entered the hair salon (which I have no choice but to do)
It was a complete waist of a day and $300! Honestly the rudest and worst hairdressers I have ever been to. I honestly can't believe for that price they do not know how to do blonde caramel foils.

  Seems like an unlikely review to me. L'Etoile Elite are famous for the colour skills.Their head colourist, has experience both here and in Europe with very particular, very complex clients from Royalty and superstars to models and actresses and just ordinary girls like me who know what they like and are not afraid to insist upon it.
  
  This is one of the top five salons in Australia without doubt and I recommend it without reservation.

I went to L'Etoile twice and I have never been disappointed. I am normally pretty afraid of going to the hairdresser because most of the time I don't have the haircut that I want. But the team was really professional and took the time needed to really understand my needs. The price is worth it considering the nice result. I am thinking of going back there for my next haircut.

I went to L'etoile Elite recently and absolutely loved it!!!
The service was excellent, I got my hair cut and styled with was done exactly to my preference and have been getting compliments left, right and center.
I had the mostly lovely people tending to me advising me as to what looks good!
I will definitely be telling everyone about them and recommend everyone to go check it out!

I visited this salon this week with a Cudo discount voucher for a Keratin treatment and blowdry. Wish I had read some of the previous reviews though and had been prepared. Yes the first thing they did was tell me I needed a colour, gloss shine and a cut, but no discussion is made of the cost. Then at the end try to sell you their shampoo and conditioner for $40 each. I don't think so, after paying the extra $225 for the colour (which was only the regrowth, no foils) and a cut that took all of 5 mins.

I bought a Shampoo, hair cut and Keratin treatment voucher and went to the salon last week... during the visit, I was treated nicely and looked after well... However, they talked me into getting a hair color and gloss that would add more depth to my hair... After the treatment, and a lot of blow dry and ironing, my hair looked rather nice... I was pleased with the immediate results, but was waiting to see what happens after the first wash (as any haircut with blowdry looks good)...
After my first hair wash yesterday with the really expensive shampoo and conditioner they sold me, my hair looks worse than it was before I went to them... It feels softer, but looks much worse... I've lost the natural bounce of my hair, and had a nightmare this morning trying to make it look reasonable enough to get to work... When I went to talk to the management about my disappointment, instead of listening to me, they kept insisting it was the 'best' haircut and treatment I would have ever had... There was no attempt to do anything about it... They absolutely refused to listen and was stuck to their point... I walked out of there frustrated and angry at myself at having let them talk me into paying more than I should ever have...
I would not recommend this salon... But if you do go, make sure you know exactly what you want, how much you're paying, and what you expect out of the experience, not just in terms of immediate results, but a few days later as well!!!

I would anyday prefer a $35 simple haircut to going back to that salon, spending ten times the money, and landing up with the same (or worse) results!!!

  Poor thing, I know how you feel. Also, I think the providers of the coupons should know as well. It's ridiculous that the way my hair looks is worse AFTER the treatment. That's just unacceptable. If they cannot provide a decent service, they should not be offering it.

  I also bought a coupon forKeratin treatment and cut, which although I was happy with, they did a colour, which I agreed to, then a treatment and a few highlights, and it ended up costing me close to $500.00. Not worth that much - no matter how good the cut. If you do go there, DO NOT agree to anything extra, unless you are willing to pay a big bill.

  I am extremely surprised by this review. I have been going to L'Etoile foe a number of years and never had anything pushed on me. I would also add that they in their head colourist is one of, if not the best, colourist in Astralia and has yars of experience working in Europe to add to his experience in Sydney hair salons. I cannot imagine him allowing any member of his team to deliver the quality of work you describe. I recommend L'Etoile Elite without reservation. You are in safe hands.

So I bought a great Groupon deal for a years worth of keratin treatment for $400. This means technically I could go after every six weeks. Everything went fine, the stylist suggested I get a trim, I agreed with him & the outcome was great. However, they also encouraged me to buy the shampoo & conditioner. That I didn't mind either. The total bill came to $400, which I thought was excessive considering I'd already paid $399 for the keratine treatment deal.

Anyways that was a little annoying. But the worse part of all is that after my first wash, which I waited three days, my hair went back to how it was to begin with. No improvements at all as soon as it was washed. And definitely what you'd expect from a keratin treatment which the whole world is raving about.

Anyway but since I had the Groupon that I could use for a whole year, I decided to go back six weeks later. This time I asked about Japanese hair straightening as I told them the keratin didn't make much of a difference. I asked the girl that did my hair how much they charge for Japanese straightening there. She said she couldn't respond & would send the "boss" over. Anyway, he quote me $900 to straighten my hair using Japanese hair straightening. What a joke!? I've been getting it done from an actual Japanese salon for the last 10 years for $300.

The stylist are great, professional & friendly, unfortunately the owner/manager only cares about how much money he can get out of you. If you have lots of money & don't mind wasting it, then this is the place to go.

I bought my wife a voucher for keratin and cut at L'etoile Elite. We had the best service you could ever have from everyone at the salon, they got us herbal teas and we really enjoyed the amazing space, which reminded us of when we were on our honeymoon in Milan and New York. After the treatment we went to Tahiti for ten days, my wife swam in the ocean everyday and her hair has been amazing! The cut, the keratin, her hair has been in the best condition ever. I am so impressed with the product they use that I'm going to have the treatment on my own hair this next week. Cant have my wife looking better then me.

I have tried hundreds of different hairdressers; I love getting my hair done and I was always trying out for something different and exciting. After going to Letoile Elite, I haven't been anywhere else! I am very pleased with the result. Letoile Elite provides friendly service and quality results at reasonable price! People here are magicians with their scissors and tools! they layered my hair to perfection (My hair is difficult to work with...thick, coarse and I have a lot of it!). I will keep coming back to Letoile elite, It is close to Wynyard station, lovely atmosphere. Getting my hair done every month is a pure pleasure here, I wouldn't suggest anywhere else! If you after pure artistry, book them now!
