The Light Brigade Hotel is a fully restored 1930's pub with a Modern Italian restaurant, La Scala on Jersey on level 1 (www.lightbrigade.com.au - www.lascalaonjersey.com.au)

Long regarded as an Eastern Suburbs institution, the Light Brigade Hotel is a place where food, beverage and great company mix with ease and affordability.

It's perfect stopover to rest weary feet during a long day of trawling the fashion boutiques and art galleries of the Paddington/Woollahra area, or to wind down for a post-work bevy while listening to a chilled-out soundtrack.

As the last stop before the SFS/SCG it's the perfect meeting place pre or post-sporting matches.

    Great location on Oxford street, especially of you are heading to the SFS or SCG.

    Good range of beer on tap, and food is ok.

    The thing that really shines at this pub, however, is the exemplary service. The bar girls were always willing to assist and keen to provide service (which is surprisingly rare these days - especially in paddington!!!).

    The only good thin I have to say about this place is the bar staff - quite pretty and helpful.

    But the food is not good at all. I really felt like being naughty so I chose the flathead with chips (beer battered), and the look/taste was fresh from the packet!!! And they charged $20. I won't be going back here in a hurry.

    The Light Brigade Hotel boasts what they believe is the biggest TV in Australia which makes it a great bar to watch the Rugby, the AFL or a big boxing bout. If you choose a night where there is a game or a fight on, expect it to be absolutely full of loud sporting fans creating an exciting atmosphere to enjoy. Despite the fact that it is often home to sporting fans, it is not known to be a pub with many incidents of violence. On a typical Saturday night, everyone is there to enjoy themselves rather than get into a fight with a supporter of the other team. The food menu is also fantastic. They have recently included a Chicken Parmigiana which is a popular choice and also do a great Salmon dish for something a bit healthier. There is a TAB for the punters and a separate lounge area for a quiet drink.

    I have spent many a Saturday night at the Light Brigade Hotel. If you dont like sport mainly AFL and Rugby the Light Brigade Hotel is not the place for you. They have one of the biggest screens in Sydney available to watch the game of the round and sitting underneath it you will find a heap of footy crazed fans all screaming at the television when required.

    The food at the Light Brigade Hotel is perfect for its patrons. Burgers, steak sandwiches and schnitzels are most popular. However they do have one dish that I quite like the chicken and haloumi salad is always a winner in my eyes. A very substantial salad. Its important to have something substantial when you are looking to have a few drinks.

    The hotel has had a bit of a revamp in the last couple of years it has a bit of a retro feel to it.

    I quite enjoy the LBH my only real issue is with the bathrooms, you have to walk down a very skinny stair well to get to the very dirty and always smelly bathrooms. The stairs are dangerous and the toilets are just plain foul.

    They have done a great job with the recent renovations and best of all they have a TAB. Finally a pub in Paddington that shows the races. The bar food is average not an extensive menu but enough to find something for everyone.

    One of the better pubs in the area. Upstairs has good food and fancier drinks appealing to the more pretentious crowd whereas the downstairs bar is much more laid back and typically pub-like. Overall, something for everyone and is always busy.

    A sprawling bar that gets busy on game nights downstairs plus pool and ping pong comps.Upstairs is more elegant.
