Longrain has developed over the years. The bar downstairs and shortgrain attached are both cool. It's an even better experience.

It's tough to fail on that menu! Yum yum. Qute pricey, but worth it.

Bloody Longrain! That's how I started my night! This cocktail is an explosion of flavors in my mouth! Starving as usual at dinner time I jumped straight to mains and ordered the Angus beef (to die for, seriously) with the biodynamic rice. The dish not only sounded but also managed to taste out of this world!

My second choice was the pork hocks which are crunchy pork cubes drenched in honey. Rather amazing although quite sweet and would probably recommend as a dish to share rather than as a main.

Longrain is not youre everyday restaurant but you can also enjoy your meal with a partner as I did or a large group of friends without being too concerned on how loud the night will unfold with wine. If one word could define this place it would just be Delicious!

Tried this place out for a business lunch last Thursday. Great service, delicious food and lovely surrounds. However, most of all what a detailed wine list, be heading back soon for a long afternoon of trying the rest of them by the glass list

I agree with everyone: their caramelised pork is the best! The serving size is just right to make us want more for our next visit -- and the two sauces that goes with this dish really brings out two opposite tastes that complements one another.

The rest of the dishes we ordered were all superb! Longrain really knows how fuse Asian cuisine with Australian taste without compromising the originality of the food!

We ordered mixed plate for our dessert and I definitely gave it 9 out of 10! It was a really fun dessert and it completed our dinner in such a perfect manner.

mmmmm Longrain! What a stupendous mix of fab fruity cocktails, divine spices & amazing fresh herbs. Everything I've ever had at Longrain has been exceptional, but our all time favourite would have to be the caramelised pork hocks, which can only be described as spicy pork doughnuts- in the best possible way! Not for the faint-hearted they come with additional sugary syrup & a spiced vinegar you can add to taste. Balance this fatty intensity with some sort of fresh spicy seafood salad & you won't feel at all overhelmed. The oysters, served singly, are great as a starter and DO NOT leave without letting one of the sorbets pass your lips. Somehow they magically capture all the sublime exoticism of tropical fruits while taking the heat out of that Thai chilli.

I finally got the chance to dine at the famous Longrain yesterday and I wasn't disappointed. While it is a little bit on the pricy side, you get 5 star service and every dish is arranged like an artwork. To top it all off- the food is extremely tasty! Great for special occasions.

Longrain has to be one of my top 5 date or friends from interstate dinner hangouts. The food is consistently of a really high quality, the wine menu is a great match for the food, and its really affordable given its an inner city restaurant.

Award-winning Thai: sour, salty, sweet and hot. And that's just the clientele.

On the edge of the city in a Manhattan-style converted warehouse, this funky and frenetic Thai, with its huge communal table, is always packed with people tucking into lively, fresh flavours. Chef Martin Boetz appeals to spicy sweet tooths with his famed eggnets with pork, prawn, peanuts and sweet vinegar; and there's plenty more to enjoy: crisp-fried trout with banana blossom salad; mussaman curry of Wagyu beef cheek and a sumptuous caramelised pork hock with five spice and chilli vinegar. The wine list is brilliantly matched to the food. There's no bookings for nights, but a wait in the uber-cool cocktail bar listening to the DJ, eating betel leaves with smoked trout and sipping a caipiroska is no great hardship.

Muddling in this Manhattan- style space is what’s done best here. Famous for its stick drink which is fruit pounded by a wooden stick shaken with vodka and ice, settle into the cool bar at Longrain and forget about a quiet chat – it’s Friday night and the discs are spinning. Instead order some betel leaves or the heavenly sticky pork to keep you going.
