This place is awesome and we go there every time we visit Sydney. Easy to get and great food, but most of all we love the atmosphere. The bar on the ground floor in the back has a traditional German appeal and of course you have a wide variety of beer to choose from. Can't recommend highly enough.

Good beer and good food. The staff are all dressed in traditional clothes, which just adds that little something to the experience. For those that love a good feast - this is the place to go.

I have never grown tired of visiting Lowenbrau. The food are just to die for (and this might mean literally when you get "for-2" specials with extra pork knuckle!) and the staff are more than friendly despite the crowd (which a lot of times can be very much under the influence of alcohol!). With plenty of outdoor, semi-outdoor and indoor seatings and the ability to book large tables, you can be sure that your next big night out is easy as one two three.

I love this place usually during the day especially for a sunday lunch or so. The food is quite nice and you would of course have to wash that down with a massive stein of their in house beer

This place is great for a good night out, great food, great atmosphere on a saturday, but need to book a week or so in advanced for a saturday as how packed it does get, the atmosphere is incredible, having a um pa pa band and the drinking games are great for a fun night out, they get the customers involved with cowbells and sing all old songs like aidelvice and such, the selection of beer and schnapps is the biggest i have seen this side of europe having over 30 different types of schnapps ranging from plum, mango, banana and cherry to chocolate, peppermint and butterscotch, if you looking for a great place for a function such as birthdays, receptions or anything of that type this place should be top of the list for the sheer atmosphere let alone the food and beverage. I am hoping to get a job in there serving behind the bar as soon as i have completed my course. Overall great experience, great food, great beverage.

The food and beverages at the Lowenbrau are fantastic.
Would not recommend to go on a Saturday night as it is sooo packed, which isn't really my style.
Its great for a relaxed afternoon/evenings when its quieter so you can chill with a stein and some yummy food.

awesome place - great atmosphere and decor. Beer and menu choices are plenty, despite the surly waitstaff it provides and all round great experience. Highly reccomend the Pills and Pork Knuckle.

Wonderful atmosphere, reminiscent of a beer hall. Long wooden tables, and lots of schnapps and steins of beer.

Food is hearty German fare, generally washed down by litres of the fine beer.

Friendly service with a live band playing German folk music.

Fun competitions, like nail hammering, and beer skulling, and a generally rowdy and jovial atmosphere.

    Ultimate Sydney

Why trek to Munich when Sydney has its very own Bavarian beer hall in the historic Rocks precinct? This atmospheric basement bar is all about hearty Teutonic cuisine and a seemingly endless array of beers – available in one-litre steins for the brave. Upstairs, the Euro-styled Überbar specialises in premium beers and European ‘schnapptails’ and is popular with the after-work crowd. Prost!
