    We decided to try the traditional seating area and it was fun. We popped in for some sushi and everything that we ordered was superbly made and presented with quality ingredients. We also tried the gyoza which were nice as was the beef sashimi. Very friendly service.

    I'm not a big fan of japanese cuisine but they managed to satisfy my taste buds with a few things on their menu. I dont really like sushi or eat seafood but their chicken dishes were really good and flavorsome. Not bad at all.

    I went and checked out Matsuri Japanese Restaurant on Gouger Street in the city on Friday night with a friend. We ordered the large boat a selection of sushi and sashimi which was perfect for two people. Although there was a lot of other stuff that I wanted to try too but I had to resist the temptation! Cost was $60.80. This place offers authentic Japanese cuisine that is inexpensive and yet delicious. The food is all fresh and beautifully presented and the atmosphere is simply delightful. The waitress was really cute and did a good job serving us. We didnt have to wait too long for our order to arrive which was good. If you like Japanese food and want an alternative to the Sushi Train then you should definitely check this place out. I will certainly be back again to try out the rest of what they have to offer.

    I had a great time when I went there with my friends and teacher. we had a banquet and got to sample lots of things. they catered very well to me considering i am a vegetarian and gave me lots of options. very traditional setting. beautiful!

    Ok Japanese. Dont get much for what you pay for. I suggest you eat before you go as the portions are kids sizes with a high price tag compared to the rest of gouger street. Not much flavour either.

    Not a bad place if you want some really Authentic Japanese food. The waitress serves you in a Kimono, and they even have a room where you sit on the floor. Not bad food here, a bit pricey but I guess you're paying for the whole Japanese experience.

    The sushi or sashimi there is marvellous and of exemplary quality. The pricing is quite dear and so, prepare yourself! The overall service is one of the best I have seen and the atmosphere is truly traditional and friendly.
