Sven Maxa created Maxa Design in 2004 to feed his passion to care for the environment and for building design. Having worked in the building design and construction industry for over 10 years he felt the need to make a difference to the way in which we design our homes for the benefit of the environment. For the first 2 years, the business operated from the spare bedroom of Sven's rented two bedroom residential unit. However, since 2007, Maxa Design has operated from office space in Blackburn which has been designed and renovated applying environmentally sustainable practices.  

Since its start up in 2004, Maxa Design has grown from strength to strength and now has 3 full time employees and 1 part time employee. The company has earned a reputation for itself as one of the leaders in environmentally sustainable design.
