This ballet school is not for adults. I had a couple of terms' lessons and found that the "Russian" method, whilst an excellent method, went way over the head of most adults in the class. Unless you are in your 20's or have studied ballet as a child, this method of teaching is not conducive to effective adult learning. A lot of good adult students were put off by the way the lessons were taught and dropped out of the course (including myself!). The teacher was not supportive and did not even try to encourage these individuals or adapt the teachning method to help them along. There are other ballet schools that specialise in adult learning and in adult learning techniques; you're much better off going to one of these schools instead. I am now at one of these other schools and am doing very well, contrary to the feedback I received at the Melbourne School of Classical Dance!
