Have a taste of Japanese style in Menya, a Japanese restaurant particularly specialising in the authentic ramen, soba and udon noodles. Expect to enjoy bowls filled to the brim with vegetables, seasoning and the meat or seafood of your choosing. Also available are side dishes of sashimi and gyoza, pan-fried pork and vegetable dumplings, and an extensive list of lunch and dinner box sets and rice dishes. Menya is open everyday and also has a branch is Market Street, Sydney City. BYO is accepted whilst takeaway is also available.
I had not been visiting Menya for quite some time, so when I finally went there a few weeks back I was actually quite pleased to be reminded why this ramen noodle restaurant was a popular go-to place.
It might not have been as busy as it was back im the days, but it does not seem to stop them from producing high quality dishes that are also suitably portioned. I know that there have been many new ramen noodle restaurants popping up near the vicinity, but so far I would prefer this place over the others any day, even with a slight premium on the price.
If you are looking for carb-free option in this place, then look no further than their salmon salad. I had it, and it was delicious, generously served, and arrived with beautiful presentation.
The staffs were friendly and very prompt; the dishes were served quite quickly.
Me and my mates always go up to Sydney just for Ramen (it isn't common food down here and tradition is tradition) and we always get it at Menya. They scream something when someone walks in and leaves which I think is enjoyable and the food is amazing. Couldn't recommend it more.
This is my favourite ramen shop in Sydney. The soup base for the ramen is exquisite, that's why its ramens are so tasty. My favourite would be the kogashi-ninniku ramen, which is strange because I don't fancy too much garlic on my plate, but this one is good. Also, if you are really, really hungry, get the mega menya ramen because the portion is huge.
THis is one of my favourite japanese places to eat. YOu must eat their ramen dishes.
I have tried almost most of the menu already. I have to say there dish sizes are very reasonable.
I tend to go there at least a few times each month.
Nice, simple, affordable Japanese - great if you need a quick feed as the service is very efficient, and you order straight away.
Once I went and they apologised that we might have to wait "a while" for a table - in their eyes, a "while" is 5, 10 minutes!
I am a fan of their Japanese curry set which come with the mini ramen.
