I went there twice over Easter with international friends. On Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. I am a Burleigh local and know how great the location is. However I was severely disappointed with the service and the food. There was a staff in charge who took our payment for our meal and was so rushed and rude that I will not go back. Understandably it was a busy day however both my separate guests commented on her rudeness. She really needed to take a break.
In addition, the wait staff were vague and generally sad. We waited on drinks both days well after our meal had been finished.
The breakfasts were very small especially the eggs with Hollandaise. I am really disappointed that such a beautiful location is simple NOT UP TO PAR.

Only 3 out of 4 meals arrived. Twice requested the missing meal and twice was told there was an error and it was being cooked now. Arrived 3 minutes after we cancelled order as the others had finished their meals. When we went to pay it was still on the bill. We explained the situation to the 'supervisor' who interrogated us as to whether we had 'consumed' the meal! When we asked to see the manager he was FAR too busy to come and see us. Instead asked for our phone number so the owner could ring and interrogate us! Wait staff friendly. Have since written to the restaurant for the owners input on the situation but not surprisingly - no response. Will never go back

Not a bad menu - fairly casual outside for a drink in your beach gear and great casual dining inside. Always good for brekky. Needs a refurb and a bit pricy but friendly staff and a nice feed. I always enjoy the talents of local legend Adrian Stuckey when he plays weekends.

A group of 9 local adults were looking forward to having a pleasant evening meal. We couldn't appreciate the view as it was dark. The restaurant was full - consequently the noise of other clients was so noisy, that we too, had to shout. There was a disgusting sewerage- like smell all evening. It may have been sea-weed, but it certainly did not help the ambience. All meals were just average, however I had kingfish which was the size of a "Birds Eye" fish finger. All 4 mouthfulls tasted beautiful, at the cost of about $8.55 each!! I was offered a handfull of chips in an attempt to compensate - and they then had the ultimate audacity to charge me an additional $9.00. I was told that "all kingfish is that size." I also had a coffee there a while ago, during the day, and was refused a glass of free water. Water had to be paid for. This place most definitely can only be recommended as a rip-off, considering there are so many other great places on the Gold Coast.

Beautiful restaurant perched on burleigh hill. I went here for a weekday lunch. The atmosphere is beautiful and the outlook over burleigh is absolutely stunning!

Food was great and the service is outstanding. As a local, the prices are a little bit expensive, but for the quality of food - very worth it! Its very popular for a sunday morning breakfast!

    Definitly recommend!

This place is a real gem. Unlike most great locations which serve very average food to unsuspecting tourists Mermaids really delivers a top quality food and service experience. Being from Sydney I was sceptical about the amazinng location but was dragged here by my Melbourne friends (who are now Burleigh Heads locals...)- they know a good place when they find one. I enjoyed a freshly made juice, bacon/eggs, thick toast and hash brown and good coffee - breakfast here matched the best we've experienced as a Sydney-sider and the view is stunning - service was also good and the price very reasonable for this quality. Would definately recommend.

As a place to hang out and watch the surfers at Burleigh Heads this place is second to none.

It is perched at the end of the beach, right on the water's edge, with large picture windows, as well as an outside terrace.

On the Saturday afternoon we were there they had a DJ playing Cafe Del Mar style chill-out music as we sipped our Coronas. It was just perfect.

We went back there on the Sunday morning for breakfast. They weren't the best breakfasts we'd ever tasted, but they were good enough, and the view just made it all worth the visit.

    Ultimate Gold Coast

Morning coffee, lunch-time beer or cocktails at sunset, Mermaids is the perfect place to unwind on the beachfront as waves crash almost at your feet. Bubbly staff can talk you through an impressive range of domestic and imported beers, spirits and a wine list that showcases the best of Australia and NZ. The cosmopolitan with a passionfruit twist wins a special nod among an enticing range of cocktails. There are great dining options too, whether it be alfresco or intimate.
