'Mezzalira' is Canberran restaurant that serves a fine selection of authentic south Italian cuisine. The efforts of head chefs Pasquale Trimboli and David Nethery have not gone unnoticed. With a swagger of awards under their belts (four time winner of the RCA Canberra award for 'best Italian restaurant', 'wine list of the year' 2006 and 'best prestigious dining 2006') a meal at 'Mezzalira' is more than just a meal, it's an experience.

Wonderful gourmet woodfired pizzas, freshly roasted coffee as well as deliciously delectable mains including vietello alla vignarola (roast milk fed veal served w/ king brown mushrooms, broad bean and pea vignarola), brasato di anatra (twice cooked duck w/ a marsala glaze) and the house specialty of porchetta (wood roasted suckling pig).

Perfect for that special occasion dinner or memorable group meal. Treat yourself and your friends to something special.

While in Canberra you MUST dine here. The food is amazing and the wine choices were outstanding. The staff are great and it is always nice to be served by the owner too. This has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. Thank you for a great meal.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Canberra. Just about everything is very nice, but a stand out are the ravioli with burnt sage. Another must is the wood fired oven bread for starters.

Highly recommended. My wife and I sampled the tasting menu and loved it. Matched to local wines and served with probably the best service in town. Best Italian by far. Thank you mezzalira and staff.

The menu is as dated as the room setting is. If you like hard core 90's then this might be your style, but it wasn't right for me either time I went. The staff do try to keep an eye on floor, but weren't as polished as they could have been.
The food was nice, but for what we paid, I expected a little more pizazz to be presented.

The place looks a little dated, but we were made to feel welcome and the menu reads well. We were tempted by a pasta and a chicken dish - both were quite good. some finishing touches were needed though. If they can get those right, they'll be nearly on par with Figaro.
Overall a nice place, handy to the city, and not that expensive.

Fantastic dining and we were well looked after by the waiters. Great wine list although it is a bit pricey and the waiters weren't as familiar with it - the chefs had to do the wine matching! We had the degustation menu which is fantastic and well paced. 2 people on our table of 7 said it was the best meal they had ever had. Bellissimo!

The dining here is magnificent. The food is exzceptionally good and is complmented by a most impressive wine list. Service is of a very high standard the ambience of the place adds to the dining expereince. The menu is so good you ahve to keep going back so you can try another dish on the list. Serving portions are jsut right so that you can have a leaisurely three course meal and not feel like you have over indulged. Bliss.
