Went to Mosley Automotive April 2013. First time I have been, I will not be going back. Received poor service, with poor advice provided.
My service included a water pump being replaced, however when I got it back it had an airlock remaining, this is something which should have been addressed prior to my receiving the vehicle back, resulting in the engine getting hot, however luckily I had kept an eye on the temperature gauge and did not cook the engine.
I spoke with two management representatives at the company the first advised me to come down and they would check the problem, I then returned, spoke with the mechanic who serviced the car, who stated that I had an airlock, and that it would be fine (they did not offer to fix the issue, said it would be fine). I then returned home (should have gone to see the lead mechanic), returned home the car got quite hot called again and I was advised on how to remove the airlock and was advised to bring the vehicle down for 30 minutes after I had removed the airlock so that it may sit at idle to ensure that the problem had been rectified, the car had to return the following day (I was not able to remove the airlock-not enough experience to do so) (at the time the thermo fans had been disconnected so this may have been the cause of the heating issue).

Mosley's also recommended that I change my power window relay's, I was uncertain of this believing it to be an electrical fault, I then went to an auto electrician who advised that the switches required replacement, poor contacts (causing poor electrical conductivity) caused the power window problem. I had informed the staff at Mosley's of this as I had cleaned the carbon out of these switches multiple times. (When I got the vehicle back after the quote, the mechanic having checked the window's) the passenger side front window had been left down by 1.5cm (the switch had burnt out and they either did not observe or saw but did not advice me nor put the window back up-I then had to go home clean the contacts on the switch to wind the window up, I am also unimpressed with this as the car could have had water enter the cabin fouling the interior and possibly the door electrical components)

When I had taken the car to an air-conditioning professional in the automotive industry I had found out that the radiator electrical thermo fans had been disconnected. These had been left disconnected following the service (I know they were working prior to the service), whilst I was driving the car around intermittently for a week, and at speed where the fans were not needed, I am extremely lucky that I had not been in stop-start traffic, as I would have had an overheated engine causing warped cracked heads and ongoing engine trouble. As it was I may have ongoing issues with the pressure build up in my air-conditioner as a result of these fans being disconnected.

Although when I went into speak with the management of Mosley's they stated they would attend to any further issues that may be linked back to the servicing, my confidence in my vehicle and their business has been eroded. Although I must admit that I was willing to give them a second chance until I had found that my fan's had been disconnected.

At this time I am not sure if the original problem an oil leak onto the exhaust extractors has been fixed, however I will seek a mechanic elsewhere if it has not.

I must say also had a timing belt installed, and have noticed the car's performance to be improved, i am happy with this part of the service.

Overall it was an expensive service, I now don't know how reliable my vehicle now is, and I don't have any confidence in the business. The six month guarantee is no good to me if I don't have any confidence in the business. I am quite disappointed with my experience at Mosley's.

The first time I took my MX5 into Mosleys Automotve was for a road worthy it was short notice and I found the service very good, the mechanic took great care of my little car and the staff was very friendly the mechanic that worked on my car did a good job and I was happy with the time it took and the amount I paid was reasonable.
I am happy to take my other car there now as I know that the service is good, fast and reasonable in price.

I have been going to Mosleys since I have had a car 8years,Was put on to them by family. They are reliable & do a great job. Have never had a problem with the work carried out. Mosleys is fair priced, they don't try to over charge you because you are female. I find the mechanics very knowledgeable, they know what they are doing. Would recommend them to everyone. From batteries to timing belts they can do it all. Log book servicing, for my new car that doesn't void my warranty.

We have 5 vehicles and all go to Mosley's. Great service, fair pricing and they do their best to help in all ways. They have been able to fix the most complex problems.

Moseley's Automotive, what started out as being a great local mechanic, has slowly got worse and worse over the 2 years I had been going to them, to the point where I do not take my vehicle there any more.

The staff there make no effort to properly diagnose problems, or test their work after it's apparently 'fixed'. On a number of ocassions, my vehicle was handed back to me, I paid the bill, and got halfway down the road before having to turn back as the issue/s that it was dropped off there to begin with, had yet been fixed.

Below I've listed three stand-out examples of bad experiences I've had at Mosley's Automotive:

    - My high-beams were flickering. It took 3 trips, a combined $230 spent.

    - In a test drive to diagnose a shuddering fault where I was a passenger and the head mechanic was driving, answered the phone whilst at the wheel and failed to stop at a roundabout, almost causing an accident, then proceeded with the phone call.

    - My vehicle, when turning past a certain point, would lurch into the turn. I went for a test-drive with them, and immediately they diagnosed this as the steering box, and that it needed a $600 re-build. Turns out, only after I paid this money and got to the first turn in the road, that is was a $100 bush. No refunds were given, though no labor was charged for installing the bush. This was the last time I took my vehicle to this mechanic.

My advice would be to look elsewhere for a mechanic, especially if your car is older and the work required exceeds just calling up parts manufacturers. Mosley's Automotive does not seem to be interested beyond that point in helping you.
