There's something much more pleasant about the Windsor portion of the famed drag, Chapel Street.
In these days of plummeting US dollars and rising interest rates and what have you (exhausting my financial know-how right there, I am), there are times when you start to wonder just what is driving the drinks prices at a particular bar. Is it the quality of the booze, or is the price indicative of the loans, still being paid off, for solid-gold toilets and flashy light fittings? When it comes to Chapel Street's Mother's Milk, I'm not sure either way. At the Astor Theatre end of Chapel, just before Dandenong Road, Mother's Milk is at the very least far, far removed from the rounds of the Hummer limo and Danno and Mario cruising for sick babes in their hotted-up Skyline while Stacey and Krystal stumble out of KFC hoping that some PopCorn Chicken will soak up the Breezers.
