Quote on arrival but have found out hard way Mr H2O charges rates. Cost $625 for under 30 minutes with jet blaster to "clear" a blocked sewer. Less than 3 weeks later it's blocked again. Just given run around on the phone, no warranty on work, and expected me to pay again - no thanks, I will never use this company again. Second plumber charged half and warrants his work. Said H2O had just pushed a small hole through some tree roots and hadn't properly cleared the pipe with the appropriate cutting head. They asked me how far did H20 jet blaster go down pipe and when told about 8 to 10 feet, they said they should have run it much further down.

I wished I had read your review and the other 29 on this site before calling them! Had the same problem as you, was quoted $480 (ex-GST) before negotiating down to $400. Was told it was a "major" job which was absolute rubbish as the whole procedure involved an air hose being rammed down the laundry basin for 15 mins! Service was very unprofessional; giggling to each other, walking all over the carpet without shoe covers (contrary to what's claimed on the website) and one of them was even playing with my kitchen scissors as I was speaking to them! I am now hoping the job lasts more than 3 weeks. Definitely not calling this company back again.

Our existing hot water system need replacing and asked for a roughly equivalent size. The largest option that I was presented with was for a 250L Rheem system. I made the assumption that Mr.H2O would provide me with the best guidance, so reluctantly downsized to 250L. I have now subsequently discovered that there are 315L and 400L models that I could have chosen.

I was then presented with two options: Dux or Rheem. I opted for Rheem based again on guidance from Mr.H2O, but what they actually installed is a Vulcan. No doubt Mr.H2O's argument will be that Vulcan is owned by Rheem, but let me counter that with a question - Toyota owns Lexus, but would you be satisfied if you ordered a Lexus and they delivered a Corolla? No, me neither.

I called Vulcan myself to confirm what sizes they offer, and while I was talking to them I asked what they would charge to install a 250L system. Their answer was $1,399. Let's contrast this with what Mr.H2O charged: $2,297!!

So, let me summarise my experience:

    1. Given incomplete advice resulting in me now being stuck with a much smaller hot water system for the next 10 years.
    2. Didn't install the superior brand that they implied they would.
    3. Charged me almost $1000 more than the manufacturer's standard installation price.

There is no question that I am guilty of not doing my own research and relying solely on Mr.H2O's advice and quotes. My advice to you is don't make the same mistake.

BTW, I called Mr.H2O on the day after the installation to discuss the above situation, and was advised that the management would call me back by the end of the day. Almost two weeks now, and still no call back.

Found Mr H20 Plumbing Services via the internet - What a HUGE mistake!!!!- now paying for it BIG TIME, A job which took 1 Hour to replace a 2.5 foot 20mm water pipe which needed no digging, drilling or difficult access cost a whopping $900.00. This job should have cost in the range of $300. I was assured that the printed price in their book was a standard cost charged by other plumbers across the state of NSW.
Rang a number of plumbers the following day as i was not satisfied with the charge only to find out i could have had the same job done for between $200 - $300 (including a call out fee). Rang the management to complain about their charge but had zero satisfication. Spoke with The Office of Fair Trading (NSW).

Trust me, it will be a COSTLY mistake.

Worst service ever. Rang them to fix a leaking tap and get a quote to replace the anode in our water heater. They turned up 6 hours late and to get the anode replaced and have three sets of taps replaces I was quotes over $1300. Now I thought that was a little pricey, but I didn't know the going rate, so I went along with it. They didn't turn up for the booking to install every thing, and didn't bother calling us to say they couldn't make it, so they ended up coming out for the job at 3pm... when they should have been there at 8am, they also had not brought the anode.

So I organised for them to install the anode the next week, again no one turned up ( no one bothered to tell me they could not come out), I rang and complained, only to have them tell me they ordered the wrong one, and could not come out, this was again at around 3, when they should have been there at 8.

So again I organised for them to come out and install the anode. again they were late. but at least the job has FINALLY been completed.

They left dirty water all over the floor and hot water system when they changed the anode, and one of the plastic "C"s on a cold tap has already come off.

DO NOT USE THEM EVER! worse customer service I have ever received in my life. I would go to ANY other then them.

Also had the unfortunate experience of choosing Mr H2o Plumbers, charged $900 for a job which took 1 hr and should have cost around $300. Was told their price manual was part of the Master Plumbers of NSW Assoc but when i later followed up i found their price is different. I proceeded with the work with the understanding their prices were endorsed by the Masters Plumbers Assos. I spoke with the Office of Fair trading and they said i could lodge a dispute application. The management were not interested when i complained. Lucky i saw your review... Cheers Cole

I'm not sure what they are like in Sydney but in Melbourne they are terrible. Had a blocked drain (Tree Roots). The staff were here for 20 minutes tops & demanded $400 without unblocking the drain. Were very loud when we refused to pay $400 for so little work & no unblocked drain. Ended up paying $200 to get rid of them. They refused to give a receipt. We brought in a local plumber to unblock the drain who just used an old snake to unblock the pipe & he was marvellous.

Late, and overpriced. 10min job, $1 parts, rate was about $1000/hr ! This was after they pull out their book with prices (they could quote on the phone if they wanted) , gives me a discount so the seem like they are giving you a good deal. In hindsight I should of told them to go away, but I didn't know what others were charging.

Called up these guys yesterday, asked for an estimation - but they couldn't give me one instead said that a quote would be done on the spot and I could say no then at no charge. They came around appointed time (not before going to the wrong block). Showed up, had to ask to take off shoes (not like the ads). Basically we had 3 leaky taps, just requiring washers to be changed (cracked washers). We didn't have the tools/time to do it straight away ourselves. We were quoted $450 to do 3 sets and only at a partial repair with no warranty on the job. At this point I should have said no to the quote then and there, felt intimidated and after they originally quoted $900+ to do a 'full repair' thought this was the 'cheaper' option. The job was relatively sloppy; we tried the taps and had to ask why some were still playing up as they seemed in a hurry to go. After two second checks the jobs were then done okay. They did a bad job of cleaning up with some toilet paper left in one sink and an o-ring flung into the bedroom. 45 mins of work, minimal parts required and $450 later we were pretty unimpressed with the overall service/job. Beware is all I have to say! I don't think they quoted an honest price nor did they warrant $450 for the job done. My biggest regret to date.

The claim that we "Do no Quote a Honest price" is false, as it is our policy that we DO NOT give a fixed price until we arrive onsite. Once we are on-site and analyse the work that needs to be done we then give you an up-front, fixed quote, which you would have had the opportunity to decline or accept BEFORE we started the job.

Most clients will insist or ask for a "ball park figure" over the phone when they call, for which we advise them that we can't give a FIXED price until we are onsite.

If you have misunderstood our company policy or have any concerns regarding our service, we would appreciate if you contact us to resolve any issues rather than posting misleading claims/comments in a Public Forum.

Cleaning up after every job is one of our policies if this is not done we are happy to refund a Partial Refund
I am happy to Discuss Any problems Offline,,Thankyou

Professional business that has a great website and service to back it up. I went online and put a request in to get an Plumber, they rang me within an hour and we had someone booked in if the day that I wanted. Turned up on time!!! Work on a fix price quote system, so you know what cost you are up for. There was an issue with the work they had done and we had to get them back, which they did within a day or so, and we were happy with level of service. Definitely recommend
