Nags Head Hotel

Directions
The Nag's Head Hotel was built in the 1860's. It was originally known as the Town Hall Hotel, being opposite Glebe Town Hall. In 1986 the pub was refurbished and the name took place.

Stables Brasserie is named appropriately as it is found to the rear of the hotel where the original stables were located in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Stables Brasserie offers an award winning blend of Australian, Asian and Italian food which is served lunch and dinner, 7 days a week. The Brasserie has won Australian Hotel Association Awards for Excellence in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2001.

The O'Hara family, owner/operators since early 2000, has further upgraded the Hotel. A new upstairs bar and lounge area was developed which accommodates the large influx of people on busy nights. This area is also used to host private functions. The neighboring terrace building has recently been incorporated into the Nag's Head which has provided space for the new Nag's Lounge. This has also allowed the traditional charm of the main bar area to be preserved.

What a find... It's rare to find good service in pubs these days. Together with $10 food specials most days and a good atmosphere...

I think I've found my new local...

Very proud of this local pub of mine. The nags head does a great steak on Tuesday nights for $10 !! a great mid week treat :-) Friendly service as well!

Easily one of the better pubs to enjoy a meal at in the Glebe area. Keep up the good work guys.

The nags head is easily among the best pubs/bars in the Glebe area...

The staff are exceptionally friendly, prices are fair for both food and drink, and the atmosphere is of the classic pub feel.

Try the bistro for dinners on weeknights as there is always specials for dinner

The Nags Head Head is a brilliant pub! The recent renovations are very impressive and the outdoor areas will be great with the warmer weather approaching. The hotel retains much of the traditional charm that many pubs these days lack.
There is a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the food is exceptional... quite a suprise to find in a pub. I enjoy $10 steak night on tues, trivia on wed and the acoustic acts on fri/sat nights.

Old English style pub in the heart of Glebe. Great food and big cold lagers. The perfect winter pub to watch the footy.

A cosy pub with prices that won't break the bank.

Harry Potter nude. Top Gear. Huge American men in tiny Lycra one-pieces lifting one-tonne weights. These are the topics my friend and I discuss at great length on a deep chesterfield sofa at the Nag's Head Hotel. Nothing too serious, you understand. We foray, briefly, into a discussion about relationships but that's part of the International Conversation Charter every girl must sign at birth. The rest of our parley, conducted as we sink further and further into the sofa's squashy cushions, is inspired by programs screening on the large television above our heads. The Nag's Head, which used to be known as the Town Hall Hotel, opened in 1868 and has a vibe a bit like a multi-levelled share-house living room. It's cleaner, resembles a traditional English pub and has efficient bar staff but, apart from that, the atmosphere is laid-back, unthreatening and agreeably unflashy. It is a fine place to ruminate expansively on any nonsense that pops into your head. A proper old-fashion...
