Love Chinese

A great family run restaurant where the food is terrific and good value for money.

Some of the dishes to highlight are the salt and pepper prawns, stuffed tofu, hot and sour soup and the san choi bau.The staff and owner are all very friendly.

My husband and I went on our first date here many years ago. We love this restaurant, you get your money's worth and the quality has always been fantastic! This IS the very best chinese food you will have in Brisbane! They are very friendly and treat all their customers like old friends. Their prices are reasonable and once you have their food, you will definitely be back again! For newcomers try the Satay Chicken and the Plum Duck, they are my husbands favourites. Mine are the Chilli Chicken and the Combination Ho Fan! We travel from North Lakes to Chermside just for good chinese...its worth the drive!

I ordered a soup from New Chung Shan Restaurant (Gympie Rd Chermside) on the 18/02/2011 and would like to inform everyone NEVER to go here. After eating half way through my soup I discovered a cockroach and called the Restaurant immediately. They wanted to see it so we took it back and they were quiet, gave me my $4 and told me to leave! They do not understand the rules and regulations when it comes to owning a restaurant and I'm sure to say I will be reporting them to Health and Safety inspectors immediately.

    Reasonable, but impersonal.

I have to disagree with you about impersonal. We have been going there for many years now and even after we moved across town 12mths ago, we went there just the other evening for a dinner date and they remember us and asked about our son and how our christmas was etc. They are very friendly and welcoming there. I love this restaurant!

Everything about this place was terrible! I ducked inside to grab a menu to order take-away (no they do not deliver) there was no staff in there at all, when a lady came out she did not even acknowledge me, and looked like they were only just setting up at 5.30pm! We called through to make an order, the staff did not greet us at all on the phone, just said "chansung"? We proceeded to give her our order, and found that we had to repeat everything back again to them, if you order the family packs, they refuse to change anything about them (even if allergic), in the end we decided not to dine there due to the poor service received from the staff.

My wife and I came here for Valentines day, and found that it was nice and quiet. The food was amazing, and well priced. What really got us, was that the manager gave out little bags of lollies to the couples who came to the restaurant. That was such a nice touch. Can't wait to go back again.
