Reviews of Nick's Seafood Restaurant

  • While this has the potential to be a great dining facility I just felt like Nicks was very impersonal. I don't know if this is because of how large the restaurant is or because of the seating but I felt like my partner and I were not treated with any sense of great customer service. The meal was very tasty but rather small and very expensive for what you received. I will be giving Nicks another chance but I was disappointed the first time around. #reviewtowin

    • Hi maddzzz.y

Thankyou for sending in your feedback, your comments are valued and appreciated. We have a highly trained Team of professionals that aim to provide personal and attentive service at all times. We are a large restaurant, you are right. On busy nights amongst the hustle and bustle of the service, it may feel a little overwhelming and impersonal.

Please understand that this is not our intention. We invest great lengths of time in training to instill and uphold standards. All Guests should leave Nicks Seafood feeling special and we apologise that we did not achieve this with you.

I would like to thank you for intending to give us another go in the future, hopefully next time we will get this right.

      Best Regards
      Nick's Seafood Restaurant Manager
  • Loved the large seafood platter. Loved the selection of wine. We got an outside table so could enjoy the hustle & bustle of the Darling Harbour pedestrian activities whilst sipping wine & waiting the sunset. Then the free Saturday night fireworks came on and we had the perfect view. The waitresses were a bit snobby/stuck up. But in the end we got a fantastic gay & friendly waiter who was attentive & personable. Was an expensive night, but well worth it.

Hubby took me here as I love seafood. However, apart from the lovely service and location everything else was pretty meh. Nick's Seafood Restaurant is basically a glorified fish & chips shop. It happens to be in Darling Harbour which allows them to whack a 500% mark up on all their items. I ordered the Tempura Prawns, hubby the Grilled Salmon. Both came with 'hand cut hot potato chips' and 'salad'. Well the chips weren't hot or hand cut and the salad was a couple of leaves sprinkled with olive oil. The chips were cold, out of a packet and didn't even have salt on them. My prawns were fresh, but that was it. Not seasoning, no crunchy tempura batter and the sauce given with it was not enough for half of my plate. Hubby's meal left him hungry and wanting more. For the average of $40 per main I would not recommend this place. What's more, the ambience is really lacking. Full of pretentious and loud locals and tourists alike, this is not the place you want to (or can) be getting good seafood from.
    • Dear Bella.Blue,

We are very happy to hear that you were impressed with our service and disappointed to see that you were not happy with our food. Our food quality and emphasis on simplicity in our presentation, showcasing the seafood itself is usually what our guests love so much about us. We do hope you come back to us and we will ensure that we deliver on both sides next time. Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback, it is important to us.

      Best Regards,

  • Really happy with their service and quality, it was a beautiful meal indeed.
  • I love seafood but it's very important for it to be prepared correctly. I can assure you that this place is one of the best restaurants in Sydney - the hygiene is on a very high level and everything is always fresh.
  • Good but not great. Not so sure they really cater for individuals - maybe time they had a rethink on what the customer wants, not what group/corporate bookings want.
  • Amazing Food!
  • Went there in a big group on the weekend. Saturday night is so busy. My fish came out very dry but the staff was very helpful and replaced the place. My wife enjoyed the bugs. Great dish.
  • Staff were really lovely, however to me it was an overpriced fish n chip shop, you really do pay for the location. Would not return, there was nothing that I could not have picked up myself from the fish markets and with a little imagination cooked at home.
