Nina's is my local and the one place I always pick for an awesome, cheap Thai meal. They do takeaway which is perfect for hangover days or when you just don't want to leave the couch, but the restaurant itself is really chilled out and relaxed, and it's away from the stress and bustle of Campbell parade so it's nice and quiet. The decor is nothing special, but it's clean and nicely set out, with plenty of space (I hate places that cram the tables together to squeeze a few more bums on seats) and a few choice tables out the front. It's BYO and cash only, so that's worth remembering, but there are bottle shops and ATMs close by so it's no hassle if you forget. The food is brilliant, and though you may initially think some of the serving sizes are a bit small, there's always enough to feed everyone and they'll pack leftovers up for you to take home. The tofu with chilli jam is awesome, as are the green chicken curry and roast duck curry. Everythnig's a bargain and you'll never be disappointed as the food is consistently good, with not too many changes on the menu in the time I've been going (actually none).
We LOVE this place. It's got to be the best place in Sydney, certainly in Bondi. Takeout, eat in with BYO, (Bottleshop about 5 mins away). The roast duck curry is always good. Great value as well. Oh, did I mention great value. Who cares about the decor, it's cleaner and better than some of the places in Cabramatta or Marrickville. We are working our way through the menu at the mo. She has our numbered favourites on the iPhone! Watch out though, cash only!
Cheap Cheap Cheap! Great cheap Thai close to the beach. I had dinner here recently with three friends. We brought a bottle of wine and had a main each. Our bill... less than $15 each! At so cheap, you'd think the quality would suffer. But not at all. It was by far the best Thai I've had in Sydney! Be careful though, it's authentic and therefore, has plenty of spice! A safe (and great) dish is the stir-fried vegetables with Oyster sauce.
The decor and service leave a lot to be desired. For example, the tissues on the tables in place of serviettes. But for the price, you can't complain and I feel like it's all part of the Bondi casual charm!
Great food, cheap and close to the beach. If you're a local or in the area for the night...definitely worth dropping in. Just don't expect silver service!
great food and nice service - the menu has a good range of options. Good for take out too. Well recommended option in bondi! Try the noodles or steam boat -this was really good
