I visited Not Bread Alone for brunch with friends Sunday last week. I was really impressed. Most of the seating is outdoors/pseudo outdoors in their courtyard and on the street. It was quite despite highway address because the cafe overlooks Hume Street. Service was fast and polite. Food was yummy. We got muesli, eggs benedict, mushrooms and an omelette.

Went back here for brekkie last week and we were not let down! The service was just as good and despite the hum of the morning traffic it was a lovely experience. Must try the Eggs Benedict. One of the best I've had in all Sydney. Nom nom nom!!

My husband and I checked this little gem out on a Friday night, and my, were impressed! Upon arrival our waiter showed us to our seat and was still pleasant to us despite me pulling out our Living Social voucher. The mains menu made it hard to choose though, but in the mean time we were given a delicious antipasto platter. Our mains arrived not long after we ordered and they were spot on. My lamb rack with potato croquettes were cooked exactly how I like them and hubby's shanks were superb. Not being wine drinkers, we traded our free bottle of Cab Sav with a dessert for two instead. To. Die. For. Crunchy and gooey chocolate brownie served with a decadent cocoa sauce and ice cream. My only bone was that where we were seated was quite dim so they needed another light just above us perhaps...? Also, while the address is Pacific Highway, the cafe is actually on Hume St (which had plenty of parking!) Despite those two very miniscule things, this place is a gem of a cafe where the staff go out of their way to make the dining experience amazing and the food is not only beautifully presented, but it tastes great too!

The original 'Not Bread Alone' is located on 376 Pacific Highway and is a small cafe bustling with coffee drinkers and locals on a Saturday Morning.
On a cold rainy day you can find an oasis of love here. The waiters make you feel like you are family and the food choices span from French toast to Lamb shanks.
Open for breakfast, Lunch, dinner & in bewteen meals- this is a welcomed rest from anyone furniture shopping in the area. Parking is easy with free parking on Nicholson. Personal favourit is the blackcurrent frappe... an icey drink full of luscious black currents.
You can book a table online for Dinner but I would book ahead of time as there is very limited seating. There are set menus ranging from $35pp to $45 and include Entree, main and dessert.

I've been here for both breakfast and dinner and the food is absolutely delightful. The fellow saw that I was waiting for my dining companion for a while and he brought me a newspaper and topped up my wine. Great service, delightful food all in quaint surroundings.
