I went to a function here a little while ago and the service was atrocious! There were nowhere near enough staff serving pre-dinner drinks. Then once we were inside, it took four tries to get a bottle of water! What staff there were looked totally sullen and unfriendly!

I couldn't tell you what the food was like as it was overshadowed by the terrible service. I would never arrange a function here again and would think twice if I were invited to one.

Manly's transition from a blokey, beach suburb to a sophisticated nightspot is being kicked along with this latest addition.

Sable - which is French for sand - is on the second floor of the seaside complex and has a feminine, upmarket feel. Attentive table service from chic young staff, a good wine list and tapas menu distinguish it from the beer barns that otherwise dominate the area, though the staff can't resist turning up the grooves to raucous pub levels.
