Today I went to Oberoi Taj, The food was good, I did bought Jigocity vouchers which says in my voucher i will get:
For only $14 you get a colossal Indian Dinner Feast for one with a choice of either a Chicken and Lamb meat feast which includes 2 dishes and the full range of sides including Roti, Salad, Rice, Papadums and Indian Dessert, OR the Vegetarian feast which includes 3 dishes and the same range of sides as the meat feast.
But they are not giving any Dessert OR the Vegetarian feast. So all I can say is food was good but you will not get whatever promise has been given, checked prices for the food, it's quite costly as compare to other Indian Restaurants.
Yesterday my pregnant wife and I decided to cerebrate our wedding anneriversity at the Oberoi Taj Indian Restaurant located in Broadbeach.
She had been given a $100 Barter Card Voucher from work and we decided now would be a great time to use it.
However when we got to the restaurant and presented them with the card they would not accept it. First they said that we need to make a booking and after I told them that the conditions on the card did not say I needed to make a booking only let them know at the time of ordering that I had the card they then came up with the excuse that they only accept two Barter Card Vouchers a day and had already done so.????
After a pointless argument with the rude manager and staff that didnt want to listen and just turned their backs on us we left.
All businesses that trade with Barter Card must accept all Vouchers presented to them as a condition between that business and Barter Card. Sorry to say but there are some businesses that spoil it for others. HELLO!!! You still get paid!!!!!!
We ended up having a wonderful meal at Randhawas Indian Restaurant at Emerald Lakes.
Very friendly staff that are very happy to look after a pregnant lady and it also has wonderful views over the lake and Surfers Paradise at very reasonable prices. (Beer is cheap too).
I highly recommend it 10 out of 10.
Moral of the story. Do not dine at Oberoi Taj Restaurant Surf Parade Broadbeach.
Another fantastic Indian resturant. Its not the cheapest especially the beers but the curry is quite spectacular. The Saag has a fantastic texture with a smokey flavour. Good size servings and a nice variety of curry's and appetizers.Service can be a bit slow, but it is worth the wait.
