Booked through Odyssey Travel for the past 14years. Booked a flight overseas through them with Cathay Pacific, as most travellers know that Cathay Pacific is known to offer FREE flight and date changes. I paid for a return trip and was told that I was put on the waiting list for a earlier departure date. I checked on line at www.cathaypacific.com.au and saw that flights were available for my booking class(V). I rang Odyssey Travel to change the dates for me and was told, flights full (not according to the carrier's website). I later rang Cathay Pacific head office for an explanation, they told me that flights were available but any changes must be made via the travel agent as this is an agreement with all travel agents. After two days or so I called Odyssey Travel again but was knocked back again. Cathay Pacific later on told me that there are blackout dates with your fare(not told beforehand). I finally saw a suitable flight and date that was within my flight fare restrictions. I rang the travel agent to change the dates for me, they simply ignored me! I made a official complaint to Cathay Pacific Head Office and after 2 weeks of fuss, i got what I was after (an earlier departure date). My main disappointment with this travel agent is they don't tell you about rules or restrictions. Don't bother booking through them unless you want to go through what i did. The only reason why I booked through them is because I don't want to give my credit card details over the net, while they expect eftpos and cash. Happy travelling!
