My name is Wendy Alstergren, and I have been suffering increasing pain in my hip and leg since a fall in Spain about 3 years ago. I had been in agony, and was unable to find relief. No position in bed could alleviate the pain, even though I was using a pillow to prop the leg, and taking things for sleep and pain.
I have used heat pads, anti inflammatory rubs, massage, Pilates, pain killers and anti inflammatories, chiropractic and physio treatment without relief....in fact it seemed sometimes to compound the problem.
After seeing Professor Woo at the Pain Clinic, and receiving the first treatment of Acupotomy, I had such relief that I was able to sleep, and dropped the pain killers. I followed with weekly treatments, for a time and now am maintaining a monthly treatment to hold this remarkable state. The treatment is super effective.
To be able to get an appointment with Professor Woo quickly, I suggest you get an urgent referral from a Doctor, specifically requesting Acupotomy. This will enable you to access treatment as soon as possible. It will be well worth the effort..
My name is Tania and I posted a review a few days ago. I must sincerely apologise for the incorrect spelling of Dr Woo's surname. Everything else in my review was correct. I will stress again, for all new patients needing to see Dr Woo, you must go to your GP and obtain a referral. On the referral, have your GP stress that URGENT ASSISTANCE is required to see Dr Woo for the use of ACUPOTOMY. This is very important. Dr Woo's knowledge of acupotomy is outstanding. With the pain I have had in the past on my left hand side of my neck and shoulder, ucupotomy is the only remedy that has made it pain free. Thank you again Dr Woo.
My Name is Ken and 15 years ago i got bells palsy on my left hand side of my face and local Dr's said there was nothing they could do for me, time was all that was needed.
A friend told me about Dr Woo at OG Pain Clinic and Dr woo worked his magic and all was fixed.... now i have sufferer ed Bells palsy on the left hand side of my face and a massive headache for 2 weeks, regular Dr's gave me Pandene Forte but they had no effect on my headache... Went to Dr Woo again and with his new technique (Acupotomy) i had instant relief from my headache and my eye was able to close a little bit more, in just 1 visit. Going back on Sunday and will keep you posted.... Thank you Dr Woo you have saved me again.....
My name is Tania and I have suffered with severe muscle tightness through the left hand side of the neck, shoulder and shoulder blade. Dr Wu has been the only person who has been able to rid me of the pain, with the use of acupotomy. Dr Wu knows exactly where the pain points are in my neck and shoulder and once he uses acupotomy it seems to relieve the pain and tightness instantly by breaking down the blockages in the muscle. To see Dr Wu, a referral from a GP stating that the patient is in urgent assistance of Dr Wu by using Acupotomy. If this is not done, there is no hope of getting in to see him. Dr Wu is extremely busy with existing patients, lecturing, and travelling overseas to lecture. Thank you Dr Wu, you are a wonderful man who has made my life a lot happier and pain free - with the use of acupotomy.

Issue: My name is Carolyn and first visited Dr Woo suffering from severe lower back pain and shooting pain on inside of right leg. My mobility was limited and I was in pain every day. When I first heard of new treatment I was not interested in socialising and made no effort with my appearance. Since receiving this procedure I now have my life back again, I feel like going out and enjoying myself instead of constantly being tired and in pain.
Background: I first had lower back pain after giving birth to my first born 21 years ago. For the first 15 years I suffered occasionally, and at various degrees of severity. Rest and a couple of physio sessions was all I required to recover. About 5 years ago my situation worsened. I could no longer play sport and was in pain on and off for the next 3 years. Physio helped initially but was more of a bandaid affect. Being in pain every day became routine for me. The past two years has been quite severe with pain every day and living on voltaren. 6 months ago I could not cope anymore and commenced seeing a new physio twice a week. By this stage I had severe pain across the lower back and my hip had seized up. I struggled to walk and could not stand or sit comfortably for long periods. Initially, I was seeing two physios (from the same clinic) who worked on different areas of my body, which provided minor improvement, and minor relief. I then saw an acupuncturist who provided me with even more mobility and occasionally a pain free day. Im not sure what happened, but one morning I awoke and was unable to move. I was bedridden for a week other than three visits to the doctor, an X-ray, a CT scan of my back and quite a few blood tests. I lived on even stronger pain killers and a wheat bag for the week. The results came back almost perfect - but I still could not walk!
The following week, on a visit to the hairdresser, the lady next to me hearing my story recommended a visit to Dr Woo. I googled for information and although this was a new technique, I was ready to try anything, to me, I had nothing to lose. First I needed a referral, so back to the doctor and Dr Woo graciously fitted me in asap.
First Visit Dr Woo first explained the procedure, the relevance between acupuncture and anatomy and then showed me on a computer the muscles he was accessing beneath the various layers of muscle. I then lay on the table whilst Dr Woo pressed on various trigger points to work out where the pain was. Whilst this was painful, it needed to be done so he could mark the point with texta. Dr Woo then performed the acupotomy at these points.
Acupotomy is a new treatment where the doctor uses a tool similar (but larger) to an acupuncture needle. The end looks like it has been hit with a hammer providing a flat edge (similar to a scalpel). The doctor then places this needle into the points as marked. Basically, the scalpel makes a small puncture in your muscle, thus releasing the tension and pressure. Dr Woo advised I would feel unwell for a couple of days. I have to say that I felt unwell for quite a few days and was very tender over the back and down the inside of my right leg, however could feel more mobility almost immediately. There was also quite a bit of bruising.
Second visit This was a week later. Again, I felt unwell for a couple of days and very tender, especially down my right leg, however even more mobility. I still had a couple days of work and then 2.5 weeks annual leave. By the end of the leave I was feeling quite good and had started 20 minute walks each day.
Third visit -I felt great and no bruising. I did overdo it a little though. I felt so great I was on my legs often walking around and then late the following day after the treatment I felt pain again through my back and leg. The first day back at work I was not well and this did not help my back or leg, however by the end of the week was feeling great again and no pain, I was walking quite freely.
Fourth visit went well and my next visit is in one month.
Whilst this is a relatively new treatment, I would recommend reading the information, making an informed decision and trying the procedure. If you are in severe pain daily then any relief is a positive. I still have work to do and need to look at exercises which will strengthen my back and muscles. I would also suggest give yourself a couple of easy days to assist in the healing and to recover after the treatment and not to overdo it.
Peace ! Relief at last! For some decades I have suffered random lower back pain, which occurs without warning. The pain is intense and debilitating, affecting my lower back, mainly vertebrae 3, 4 and 5 and resulting in the related muscles spasming and becoming rigid for many days. Diagnostic tools show no obvious source. I have tried many drugs, including pethidine and many alternative corrective approaches. They do little or nothing for the pain and rigidity. Standard acupuncture gives some slow relief. But acupotomy is brilliant. After one session I can again bend my neck, get in and out of a car and put on jocks. The severe pain is gone, leaving what feels like a very tied and worn back. After two sessions I am back to normal.
I have been visiting Dr Woo now for at least 12 years and his is the only approach which works for me.
For any really debilitating pain, forget the drugs. I recommend Dr Woo and his acupotomy. He works wonders.
I have suffered chronic back pain for 20 years plus, after a sporting injury. Dr Woo recommended to me by a friend, and before that, I was unable to bend up and down properly, could not touch my toes, and spent many nights awake with pain. AFter only TWO visits to him, Dr Woo has given me freedom of movement, pain free and feeling happier than I have in years with all of this. I cannot thank him enough for helping turn my life right around physically - this is not an idle endorsement, it DOES work, do not doubt it!
I have been suffering with legs that have been very sore to the touch for longer than I can remember. I tried sports massage, vitamin supplements, sports rubs and lots of stretching. Finally I spoke to my GP and he referred me to a neurologist.
While I was waiting for the appointment I thought I might seek out Dr. Woo as he helped before with an altogether different problem. He assessed my problem and suggested "acupotomy".
After the first treatment I could touch my legs again. A quick follow up treament has given me more relief. I can't believe how long I had put up with the pain and cramps and how quick the relief has been.
Hi my name is Joseph. I have been receiving Dr Woo "Acupotomy" treatments for my sport injuries for over 5 years now. The first time I visited his practice though was a result of being fed up with having weekly remedial massages, physio treatments etc over a 10 week period for scar tissue that was in a delicate area to work on around my hip area. One treatment and the pain relief was instant and after a 3 days I was back to full sprint training!!
I still have weekly/fortnightly massages to keep my muscles loose and in shape for training but when I over strain or tear a muscle, I dont hesitate to see Dr Woo. Thank you Steven for always fitting me as soon as you can, as I know its difficult with your always booked out schedule!
