I've been going to Olnix since I first discovered it at The Entrance many years ago and it's always the most pleasurable dining experience. Although I loved the picturesque location, I was glad when it moved to Norah Head because it's closer to home now. Nick makes the most incredible sauce - he calls it "MAD' sauce - and people come from as far as Sydney to have one of Nick's meals smothered in it! Nick is the best chef around and he will go out of his way to please his customers. I'll never forget my first meal at Olnix and the personal touch Nick gives by coming to introduce himself to his customers to say welcome and make sure you're happy with the food and service (which I certainly was!). Olnix is a relaxed dining experience, yet the food is far beyond that of a bistro, and Nick's always obliging if you ask for a little change to menu items, like more sauce or no onion etc. My favourite meal is actually one of the entrees, so Nick just up-sizes it for me to make it a main. The menu has some standard meals that are always available, but to ensure no-one ever gets bored, Nick makes changes to other menu items regularly, so there's always a great variety to try. So do yourselves a favour and try Olnix for a great steak, salad, pasta, seafood, chicken, beef, veal or lamb. I know I sound like a commercial, but I swear I'm not getting paid for this and I'm not related at all - - - I'm just a huge fan of Nick and his fantastic restaurant!!! I've never met Nick's wife, but if she's lucky enough to have him cook for her all the time, I'd be very surprised if she's skinny!

Always a pleasure to dine here. My partner & my family have dined here many many times. We were so pleased when we heard they were moving to Norah Head from The Entrance, much closer for us! The sauces served with the meals are amazing. I myself can be a particular fussy eater but have always found something new on the menu to enjoy each time I return. My partners favourite is the Sweet Chilli Veal. I dont think he has even needed to try anything else, the dish is that good! Staff have always been friendly and knowledgable about all dishes. The owner and chef even comes out after we have finished eating to see how our meals were and for a chat which I believe is TOP service. Meals are quite well priced & definately well above bistro style (as mentioned on another review). We have recommended Olnix to all our friends & have not once had negative feedback after their visit. We are actually heading there tonight with the in-laws!! Overall if you are looking for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a great steak, chicken or even seafood dish, look no further than Olnix. Keep up the great work!

Wow! - - I was really saddened to read the previous two reviews for this restaurant - - I can only assume those people attended the restaurant on a really bad day (not that I've ever known there to be a bad day for Olnix!). I've been going to Olnix with friends for about ten years now, at the very least once a year for my birthday. I find the staff very friendly and the owner/chef extremely friendly. I've never been disappointed by the quality or quantity of the food (I recommend the beef & mango sate). I have also recommended Olnix to a number of friends and work colleagues, a few of whom now also attend on a fairly regular basis, stating it to be one of their favourites. I wish the other people who wrote their review would give Olnix one more chance as I'm sure they'd change their opinion - - or perhaps I've been lucky on the 50 times I've eaten there?!

Two couples attended this restaurant. We waited 90 minutes for our meals to arrive and mine was cold, not warm but cold so had to be sent back. I waited a further 10 minutes before meal was served to me again and this meal was not overly hot and had different vegetables served up. quite strange. The meals were extremely overpriced (average price of $30.00) for what they were which was bistro style food . When dessert menu was brought to our table we were told 3 of the seven desserts were not available as they had run out of bananas. There was no reason for this as restaurant was half empty. We gave dessert a miss and decided on coffee which was terrible! The worst of the night was when we went to pay we handed over our discount coupon we had for the restaurant and the a staff member came out and started shouting at us in front of the whole restaurant . We left the restaurant in shock. Don't waste your time or money going to this restaurant!
