Self-contained charming Katoomba cottage. Fully furnished, including a gas log fire, a modern kitchen and bathroom with underfloor heating and accessible shower, and currently just one one Queen-sized bedroom (more rooms available soon). All linen is supplied including doonas & towels. The cottage is based on an 1880s miners home with its typical Australian Edwardian-Federation timber exterior (1920s style), now restored, updated and decorated indoors with sensitivity to its quaint heritage character. Dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, natural gas cooktop and other appliances are available and you can enjoy your meals (self-catered) in the sunny conservatory-style sitting area beside the new modern kitchen (double-glazed for winter breakfasts), or al fresco on the open deck. The cosy loungeroom has Digital Freeview TV and a DVD player, plus local and Australia-wide touring information. Short, near-level walks from the cottage take visitors to the Lurline Street galleries, restaurants, information centre, craft shops, and to Echo Point where the famous "Three Sisters" formation can be seen - or walked to along the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. This excellent bushwalk takes in the most spectacular views of Blue Mountains National Park. Explorer/Trolley bus has a stop 50 metres away, and there is no need for a car. For going further there are tour buses, car hire and taxi services available. Katoomba township has supermarkets (one open till late), specialty stores, a multitude of restaurants and cafes, art and craft galleries, live shows, large-screen movies, churches, bush-sports and tour services, hospital, regular Cityrail trains, local buses, taxis, car hire, laundromats, Medicare/Centrelink, and similar services expected in the City. Maximum persons= 2. Minimum stays apply.
