We were here last night for a birthday party. $45+ for effectively over salted stir fry that blistered my partner's tongue. Our chef bullied some people into trying to catch their food when they said they didn't want to, had poor egg/rice throwing aim and covered over half the party in oily fried rice and/or raw egg. Wait staff were slow at cleaning up the mess and in some cases did not provide fresh napkins and we had to pass ours on to our unfortunate friends. The floor around the teppanyaki area is greasy and very, very slippery.
The chef swore a lot & made lewd remarks/gestures about the girls and insulted the husbands, coughed in our food & used a bowl he'd put on his head. He then shouted and accused us of 'talking ****' when we complained to the floor manager. No apologies were offered and we were told it is all part of the entertainment and that we don't understand because we haven't been there before. We had arrived at the restaurant early and had watched the teppanyaki meal being conducted for two other parties - our treatment was definitely of a different standard.
Many of us have been to teppanyaki restaurants before and this is definitely not a good one.

Oyama is slightly overpriced for sushi but you do get what you pay for here.

I went to Oyama with my boyfriend and we were sat at the sushi station; we were given a lot of food from recommendation from our own personal sushi chef. ALL of it was DELICIOUS! We had a delicious Sashimi (Raw meat) platter that just melted in our mouth, we also had a tempura platter (Fried food) which was delicious and one of the "famous" Oyama Handrolls. It was all delicious, but the only thing that stopped me from giving it a 5 star review was the price. For those 3 meals it cost us more than $90. Ouch.

Probably the best Japanese resturant in town. The food is perfect, the service great. One of my favorite dining experiences.

t may not be billed as a theatre restaurant, but the moment you enter Oyama you’re involved in a performance. The team whisks you into the action, be it at the sushi bar or around the teppanyaki table. The sashimi is fresh, the teppanyaki worked with expertise, and the menu has a mix of purist Japanese and popular fare. There is a reasonable wine list, with crisp dry whites to suit the food style. Oyama lends itself to groups of diners.
