Palms Food Court & Restaurant

Directions
With four different types of cuisine to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice when dining at the Glen Waverly based 'Palms Food Court & Restaurant'. Four stalls serving Malaysian, Chinese, North Indian and South Indian food will fulfill all cravings for exotically spicy Eastern cuisine that won't hurt your back pocket.

The court is positively buzzing, which is reminiscent of the traditional hawker style food markets scattered throughout Asia. Be sure to try out the nasi lemak ( a Malaysian coconut rice dish served with pickled vegetables, egg, fish and chilli sambal) for only eight dollars fifty, or the Chicken 55 from the Indian stall.

An opportunity not to be missed!

Great place to take the family for some tasty sri lankan or chinese food. Can get pretty busy and loud but after you eat the food you will know why. Drink to take a while so order when you first get there. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but you will walk away happy as a pig in mud.

Just started coming here and it's great. You have a choice of three places: Indian, Asian and cafe. You order at the place you want, then they bring it to your table. The Indian place serves really nice naan bread, definitely order that. The Asian place serves meals between $10 - 12, very affordable and food is pretty good. Service is fast when you go for lunch, but I hear it gets quite slow in the evenings when it's very busy. On Thursdays they have a buffet which I have yet to try but looked amazing.

This is a little pot of gold! cheap meals avg. $9 and they are huge! I don't know how they do it so cheap and still taste so good, but get there around 6pm because it fills really quick. The idea of this place is unique- 4 restaurants under one roof, all different cuisines, so its great for a group of people.

Brilliant concept and great food! Perfect if you're with a group of people who can't decide on a cuisine. I highly recommend the chicken 55 for anyone who likes spicy food. But careful, it's soooo addictive :)

I've been a regular for over 8 years. Favourite must dishes are the Fried Kuay Teow noodles and ghee masala thosai. Great family atmosphere.

If you yearn for something edgier than the usual suburban Chinese, head out here for a bargain and mixed-bag feed.

YOU'VE probably driven past Palms in Glen Waverley and ignored it as just another yum cha barn dotting the outer east. To be brutal - for an awful lot of Melburnians - that's the right move. Palms is styled as a food court, but has more in common with those hawkers market centres set up in Singapore following government moves to regulate the sale of street food. "But it isn't as smart," says my companion. He's excited because his Malaysian friends swear by this place, although he can't resist suggesting that's because it's cheap. You're greeted by a central bank of laminate-topped tables. Around the walls are four food outlets selling North Indian, South Indian/Sri Lankan, Malaysian/Chinese and Malaysian/Indian fusion food. High on the walls are colourful (but blind) pairs of windows that could have been inspired by a Penang streetscape and even with a couple of judiciously placed street lamps between the tables, but they're not fooling anyone - we are still in Glen Waverley.
