This is the worst service experience I have ever had.
I arrived before time for my 1:30pm appointment to be greeted by the friendlystaff. I thought that was friendly and wondered how on earth will get to me in a minute if the client staff has just brought over from the wash area, hair soaking wet will get through the hair cutting, blow drying and styling all the while swivelling left to right and around clients head taking time cutting while they discuss something about something I was not paying attention. Seeing staff was the only one cutting hair, other was doing nails and on wash up I called my girlfriend to bring me some food because at the rate things were going, I will not be seen to in the next half hour.
Nearly half an hour passed. Seeing there was no water cooler around I asked where I could get myself a drink of water. Was apologetic and the water was hurriedly delivered to client! This of course warranted the WTF look from me. Staff laughed it off and I suggested client might like some water.
My food arrived just as I was called up for the consultation with the colourist. Asked which colour I would like and informed me I would be charged and additional $45 for the toner to achieve that colour. I asked what a toner is, why do I need it, what does it do? The simple answer I got was just that simple! It tones your colour. I questioned why I was required to make an additional payment to deliver the service I had already paid for and this additional cost is not on the fine print. Agreed with me but had to charge for it. I asked to speak with the manager. other staff arrived and explained it is standard business practice. Anybody walking off the street is charged extra for the toner. I surely did not walk off the street. I pre-purchased an online voucher for a personalised professional consultation, a stylish cut and blow dry, full head of foils valued up to $300 all for $79.
I went back to the consultation and soon realised my only options for colour that will not require a toner are blonde colours. Now imagine my black hair with bleached blonde highlights. Not a good look. I was not comfortable and stood up to leave. Before I could leave I had to tell them that I was not happy about paying for something that was not in the fine print. Offered it to me for $20. I am a reasonable woman. I stayed and hoped for the best.

My Valentines present from my partner was to get my hair coloured from brunette to blonde. After booking with another salon, I found a voucher on a daily deals website for a full head of foils, cut & blow-dry at Paris Pearl. I thought excellent! Save half the cost.

On the night of the appointment I went in with my boyfriend and showed the hairdresser a photo of me a few years back on what colour blonde I wanted. Hairdresser said that's fine, a bit of my darker colour would come through though. I was ok with this.

3 hours later at 9pm and I was all done. After we left, my boyfriend said he expected a lot blonder than what I got. The next day in the natural light I was very disappointed with the result. The shade of blonde I had was no-where near the shade of blonde in the photo that I was expecting.

At work, one of my colleagues lifted my hair & said that you could see the horizontal stripes where the foils were, it looked all over very stripey & I should go back. On Saturday I consulted with a hairdresser in the original salon I booked, and she suggested I go back & ask them to fix it, she said the same thing, that it was very stripey & blotches of blonde everywhere when I put my hair back & the foils had "bled" because they were put too close to the scalp.

My boyfriend & I went back to Paris Pearl & spoke to the hairdresser who did my hair. I told them I wasn't happy with the end result, and showed them the photo that I showed them on the night of the booking. They explained that as I had a boxed colour in my hair, this would involve a colour correction (which they did not mention on the night of the appointment) and it would require two tone foils which they said was not part of the offer. (The voucher T&C's did not mention anything about only one tone allowed). They were worried that since my hair was so thin, putting a bleach blonde colour in and that I had a boxed colour in my hair, if they did the shade I requested my hair would snap off to about 5cm in length. I was not advised any of this on the night of my booking.

There was another hairdresser there, who took photo's of my hair, both with it down, and pulled back. My boyfriend pulled a section of my hair back to assist with the photos.

My hairdresser said they could not make any decisions on what the resolution would be, they would have to speak to the management. I left my contact details & we left the salon.

About half an hour later, on Saturday afternoon I got a call from the management. I said I am just not happy with the result of my hair and begun to explain the situation. They then went on the rattle off a whole heap of statistics on how many of these deal vouchers they do, other statistics about the salon. They then said that my boyfriend was pushing my hair around pointing out what was wrong with the colour. I corrected them, that he merely lifted a section of my hair to get a good shot when the hairdresser was taking photos.

The phone conversation continued very one sided, with the management offering me a full refund straight away without an offer to fix my hair. They continued to talk over me whenever I tried to say something, saying that they had won multiple awards & are a very community based business.

Management said that there is a cheque waiting at reception for me for a full refund & that was the end of the discussion and said goodbye before I could say anything.

Whilst they were writing the check, looked at my hair (which was pulled back showing the terrible stripes) and shook their head. Whether that was in disbelief that I had the nerve to complain, or in disbelief that such a bad job had been done.

Needless to say I will never recommend Paris Pearl.

From my experience at Paris Pearl, from Eyebrows with jo, beauty treatments with kate, hair with Lilian and the lovely welcome from reception upon entering- I cant imagine anyone complaining. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and have never given me the impression that they are just out for a buck! I have always been very satisfied from my hair being done there and have always been complimented by family and friends after. I know what its like to feel like just another walking wallet when getting treatments at previous salons but NEVER at Paris Pearl. They make you feel like one of the family and I would recommend any women to experience the Bliss of any treatment there.
Keep up the great work ladies- I think you are all amazing.

I have been a client for 3 years now, I live in Melbourne and have a busy work life unfortunately most of the beauty and hair salon's in Melbourne can't do my eyebrows or hair.

So I fly to Sydney every 5-6 weeks to get my eyebrows done which Jo the international eyebrow shaping QUEEN makes them look amazing I'm from Spain so my eyebrows are naturally thick most beauty salon's were making them look like Nike ticks as she would say, try are perfect so if you want the real deal of glamazon see Jo.

Also I get my hair done straight after my eyebrow appointment, Lillian the hairdresser that works at Paris Pearl is amazing, I first came In with black short hair (it was awfully) a lady from Melbourne that was doing my hair before a Major photo shoot butchered my hair. It took her a while to get my hair were it is today now my hair is light chocolate brown which is stunning an my hair is down to my waist her hands are magic.

All the staff there a lovely, the shop always looks superb an smells Devinne thank you Paris Pearl and Jo for listening to all my problems and made me feel positive every time I walked out, you guys are so real and amazing thank you again.
See you guys in a few weeks!

I came out of Paris Pearl on my first visit with nice hair, but 3 shades darker than what I had asked for. I was unhappy but I trusted the staff, when they said it would fade nicely within 2-3 washes. After washing my hair 2 times I was even more upset with the result as the colour had faded a LOT on my ends and not at my roots and it looked terrible. So I rang up Paris Pearl upset and scheduled an appointment to fix my hair. A good colour job should last much longer than 2 washes!!
I arrived at the appointment assuming it would be free as it was not my fault the ugly dark colour I did not want in the first place had only stuck to the roots of my hair--which were the darkest part of my hair in the first place and where she put the dye on first and let it sit for longer than the rest of my hair--however I was made to PAY to have it "corrected". I am hesitant to say corrected because they did not strip the permanent colour from my hair, which is what I expected, but put in a few highlights instead which made my hair even uglier as it now had a tiger stripe pattern on top.
I honestly wish I had not gone to Paris Pearl at all to have my hair done. I prefer the colour I had previously to my wrecked hair now from this awful experience. And am so angry that I had to pay to have my hair "fixed" because the staff there was too arrogant and defensive about the job they had done on my hair.

Hi I remember you, I was the client that was sitting next to you while you stressed out my hairdresser, you even said to me... I am going to leave a bad review, and I asked the owner if I could make a commment if you did give the hair dresser a bad rap... you were told by the hair dresser that it would take a couple of goes and that it could not all be done at once and that is was hard to fix someone esle's mistake. I have been getting my hair done here for five years and the hairdresser has always walked me through every cut or colour and have always been happy with all the treatments I have had here. Keep up the good work Paris Pearl... and you did a great job of fixing my hair up five years ago and thats why me and my friends love coming here dont let that ball breaker get to you.

I completely sympathise with you. It is bad enough when your hair goes wrong at a salon but what is worse is the total lack of customer care or service from Paris Pearl. They clearly are only about money and don't value their long term customers. Since my bad hair experience, myself and 2 other friends have never been back, resulting in a far bigger financial loss than if Paris Pearl had just sorting things out properly at the time.

I organised to have my wedding hair done by Paris Pearl. After sending photos of the style I wanted (1930's), my hairdresser was confident that this wouldn't be a problem. On the day of the trial, the hair style was attempted over and over again with no success. I finished 1.5hrs later with a style that was nothing like the 1930's or the pictures I had shown. The hairdresser admitted the style hadn't worked, blamed this on my straight hair and suggested I do something different. To my shock, they were still happy to charge $80 for this service, which wasn't what I asked for or similar to the photos I had shown. Consequently I found another hairdresser at short notice who was able to do the exact style I asked for in 40 minutes with no problems at all. Be very wary getting your hair done at Paris Pearl.

Hi just in relation to your comment. That's what trials are for to work on getting the right style. Also there is no salon here in Sydney that does trials for free. Also Lillian was your hairdresser for three years, and said this was not her area of expertise but should would do some home work and give it a trial. Jo salon owner came to the rescue as your pre- wedding dinner was the day you did your trial. You had run late for your appointment that day and your husband to be was very upset, and voiced through the salon that you were keeping everyone waiting. Jo quickly finished style, which your own mother said looked better than what you wanting in the first place. You never gave her another trial which is what trials are for. And yet from very well kept records by The team you continued coming to the salon after the wedding and were still treated with the same respect you had been in the past. I am the new HR officer .

Even though i've moved away from the Ashfield area I still travel to Paris Pearl to get my eyebrows done. They are magicians. I love their work. They never rush me even when they are busy and their pricing is so reasonable. Recommend them to anyone that wants their eyebrows shaped to suit THEIR face :)

I had an eyebrow and then a hairdresser appointment at Paris Pearl a few weeks ago. I must say the place is beautiful inside. I love the big antique mirrors, they are a big stand out for me. Jo is the best, I have been coming to Paris Pearl for a few months now and Jo who does my eyebrows has never failed me. Its amazing how eyebrows make a difference when done correctly. The hair appointment was great too! I have long long hair and she never cuts (trims) my hair too short!!! She talks you through it and she gives you what you want.
