Have enjoyed the great food a number of times. They recognised the invasion of our experience, however failed to do anything of substance. We were told we could be fit in if 1 hr was sufficient, we eagerly agreed (remember great food). All food came in half an hour (2 people, 1 bottle of wine in half hr). We went to pay, to be met with "I saw you were frustrated". Recognised but no action. Great food nothing was done for our experience.

BRISBANE is undergoing something of a Spanish invasion and whats been bubbling away in Melbournes restaurant scene for the past decade has made its way to us.

I’ve been to two new Spanish restaurants within a week, the second of which is Peasant. It’s brought to us by Jamie Webb and Andrew Baturo, the guys behind modern-Vietnamese wonder Libertine. Peasant is next door to its sibling, in The Barracks, and although its decor is markedly different from Libertine’s, you can feel the same minds behind its graffitied interior, easy manner and youthful crowd of patrons. The drinks list is almost entirely Spanish, and the bits from elsewhere are either Portuguese, South American or local stuff with a Spanish intent. That applies to the beer as much as the wine list, and I reckon it is an applaudable (and brave) move. The guys have pitched it nicely with irreverent (but mostly accurate) explanations and a bunch of bottles that are easily accessible both taste- and price-wise.
