    Been going here for a couple of years now. Very happy with service and value. A busy salon, might be hard to get a booking these days but give it a go. Some of the banter and music is MA15+, being broad minded will be an advantage!

    Stepping into Pelo is like coming home. Everybody is so welcoming and fun. Brigitte has been cutting my hair for some time and I absolutely love it. She knows what I like and what will suit me. Sipping a beer or wine while having your haircut is definitely a bonus! The rest of the staff are great too. I have been to other salons on King Street and will always come back to Pelo the vibe is too good and the haircut fab. Well done guys!

    Desperate for a haircut after 3 months away I decided to try Pelo....hairdresser answered the phone 5 times while giving my hair a desultory trim. Another client held a screaming baby while her two small children screamed, yelled and ran rampant around the salon. Along with hairdryers blasting away and two women bellowing at each other (doesn't anyone talk quietly anymore?) I left the salon with a headache, minus $80 and looking exactly the same as when I went in.

    Vini has been cutting my hair for a few years now and I'd travel to the ends of the earth to see her. Luckily, I only need to go to the lovely Pelo in Newtown. The vibe in the salon is second to none - I've never been so looked after before. This Vini/Pelo combination is about as good as it gets.

    I've never needed to tell Vini how to cut my hair - she does what she does and I'm always happy. I've always hated the 'wasted' time spent getting a haircut. At Pelo I get to enjoy a cold beer while I get my amazing cut and then I step out in Newtown and enjoy some of the best food Sydney has to offer - now it's me who's wasted, not my time ;)

    5 stars for Vini and 5 again for the Pelo.

    Last month i was in a wedding party and Vini from Pelo Hair was our hair stylist. I tell ya, she as AWESOME!! The bride's hair was stunning, and also the bridesmaids ...including myself!!! I dont usually have stunning looking hair as my hair is very thick, long and wavy/frizzy, it usually just goes up in a bun! BUT! On this day i felt like a million dollars, had my hair half out (the profile pic is us on the wedding day) had so many compliments on our hair!! Will def rate VINI as my BEST HAIRSTYLIST and would def recommend her. Don't know who, when and where i'll be getting married but VINI will def be dealing to this hair!!!
    And to top it off VINI is just a gorgeous person!!! She's funny, chilled and very cool! You wont be disappointed!!

    Following Miss Vini around Sydney
    I too having been following Vini for years because she is consistently great at cutting, styling and colouring my hair. I am so glad she is back in Newtown with the lovelies Kelly and Brigid who have created a vibrant energetic welcoming salon. Vini loves hairdressing and it shows. For those of us who are neurotic or nervous about bad hair ( who isn't?). Vini listens, hears and comes up with ideas and suggestions and then makes it happen. What more could a gal want?

    If your looking for a great salon that wont cost an arm and a leg, look no further than Pelo! Vini Guttenbiel in particular has been my stylist for the last 4 years and is a real gem. We've been through alot over the years (stylewise), everything from bangs to blonde (naturally I'm a dark brunette) and I've always been 100% happy with the results. VIVA VINI!!!!

    A new hairdresser at Pelo is the lovely Vini. Vini has been my hairdresser for 4 years now and I will follow her where ever she goes! Pelo made the best choice in getting Vini on board! I have always walked away happy as has everyone I have recommended. Sadly, I have moved to Brisbane and can't see Vini as regularly as I used too, recently I had to get my hair done elsewhere. Result: Unhappiness and bad hair! Flying back home to Vini from now on!

    Vini Guttenbeil-Ramsay is one of the best hairdressers I have ever met in Sydney.

    I spotted her and her fierce red Afro when I was walking past Utopia (Newtown) originally and since then I have been stalking her for at least 5-6 years. Wherever Vini goes, I go!!! Yes she is THAT good people!!

    As Vini will tell you, I am super fussy with my hairstyles and the way its cut. What I love about Vini is that you tell her what you want or what you dont want and she gets it right EVERY time!

    Shes transformed my hair multiple times over the years and Im so glad to have met her. Her exceptional cutting & styling skills are outstanding, professional and cutting edge and it is ALWAYS a pleasure having my hair cut and massaged by Vinis magical hands.

    Having tracked Vini down at Pelo in Newtown it was also a pleasant surprise to see some of those girls from Utopia who Vini used to work with back in the day. Pelo is a very sexy salon with even sexier staff. It has an awesome atmosphere, the customer service is superb (where else can you go to and be offered a beer or a glass of wine with your haircut??)

    I walk in the salon looking and feeling like $10 and walk out looking and feeling like $10million.Do yourself a favour. Vini @ Pelo..Got my tick of approval ;-)

    I love Pelo. Forget all those snobby newtown salons the girls here are great! Amanda has been looking after my hair and i think she is a fantastic stylist. We have great chats and her skills is out standing. She always seems to go the extra mile. I would very much recommend this salon its down to earth and you leave with outstanding hair! Thanks Amanda and Pelo!
