Peter Tommasini Classic Car Restoration

Key to Classic - Passion and persistance achieves perfection

Car restoration became my obsession over time as I was fascinated by the shape and artistic style of vintage, veteran and prestige vehicles. My main objective is to restore and recreate the cars that have been icons in the history of motor racing and have also grabbed the hearts of enthusiasts around the world. The men and woman who share that special attachment to a "bucket of bolts with four wheels" will understand the obsession I have had for 40 years.

HAND TOOLS:
Some have been resurrected from designs that have faded away as times have changed. We have chosen the name "Handbuilt" to represent the 'old school' tools and techniques that were used in the days when men building cars were craftsmen. For more information and prices please contact us.

NIGHT CLASSES:
We have constructed these night classes to teach advanced techniques in panel fabrication. Through these classes you will achieve an advanced level of skills such as complicated return shapes, bulbous shapes, oxy welding, panel beating, rust repairs, plenishing and many more. As you become confident and have achieved an appropriate skill level, you can bring in a project of your own or create artistic items such as medieval helmets and ornaments.

SEMINARS:
Seminars will demonstrate the skills I have been using over many years and include metal shrinking - cold and hot, stretching, blocking, plenishing and wheeling and welding of aluminium and steel.
This is followed by an in-depth discussion and answering of your questions. Time permitting, there will also be an opportunity for hands-on experience towards the end of the day - material supplied.

DVD's:
Handbuilt by Peter Tommasini, DVD Series 4, 5 and 6 priced at AU$110.00 are now available for purchase. DVD Series 1, 2 and 3 are still available for purchase at a reduced price of AU$105.00.

    DVD Feedback

"I received the 6 DVD's on Saturday and have just finished going through them (Monday). Lots of good information here and different than the 45 plus, other videos and DVD's on Metal Shaping I have. Please let me know when the DVD for the Monaro Rear Panel is ready as I'll definately be a buyer. Thank You."

"Yes the series was definitely informative. I thought it was clear how you explained the off dolly and on dolly hammering and slapping. Also the explanation of the hammering up after welding by concentrating on the different areas was also very clearly explained. I also liked the explanation of making a door skin and the use of the wood to form the radius this is something I have never been taught to do, so very useful. I would like to see a reverse formed around a full wheel arch so that is why I'm looking forward to the 1/4 panel DVD."

"I have many DVDs from other master metal shapers; Ron Covell, Ron Fournier, David Gardiner and John Glover. What I liked especially with your DVDs was that you were defining and showing how to make the bulbous shape and the return shape. I have not seen that in such a way in any other."

"Peter I really enjoy watching your DVD it is real down to earth solid information, I cant wait to watch you do the full quarter panel."

"I have just finished watching your series 1-6 DVDs. I find them very good and formative. I like how you teach; you are very good at explaining the subjects to detail."

"I'm very satisfied with your DVD series and I look forward to your new series, let me know when they are available."
