Be VERY careful when you order a cake from the deli at Piedemnotes.....I ordered a cake for my sons birthday and i ordered a certain cake and got a different cake. And i didnt realise it until the cake was cut to be served. I was very dissappointed. The cake i got was totally different to the one i expected and ended up throwing most of it out. Waste of money and time and massive disappointment. Would never order a cake from there again and do not recommend it!! -

This place is always busy coz there aint nothing else around.Piedimontes is famous round these parts. Its been party of the local scene for years and before Fitzroy North was hip and trendy. The deli and fresh bread sections are ace but the supermarket itself is expensive and doesnt always have what you want like a Coles or Woolies but hey, anything different to them is great right? The bottle shop, which is attached to the supermarket is awesome with a superb selection of local and imported wines. if you have time, go upstairs to the hardware area. Its like an old curiosity shop. Lots of cheap things like peg baskets, party balloons, ironing board covers and other useful sundry items you can't live without. -

As a descendant of Italian grandparents it is great to have a local supermarket with all of the classic European foods. They have all of the staples that you'll find at any good supermarket, along with speciality items you wont find in the big stores.
The staff are friendly, and despite most things being a little more than at the big supermarkets, you''' find some things are actually much cheaper (bread and spreads - Nutella!).
The deli and bakery are great, with a huge range, fast and helpful service, and exceptional quality. -

This supermarket is a nice change to the big chains. While still part of a larger chain of supermarkets, the management and service is far friendlier and personable than what you'll get at any of the big name ones. The prices however, a bit more expensive... although specials do still exist. I would recommend going here occasionally, but not regularly and maybe only to buy a few items and not to do a large shop. This way you'll benefit from the nice atmosphere, while not paying heaps for it!
