    The Pig and Whistle Tavern is a gorgeous old fashioned English pub. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, the decor is lovely and there is a nice outdoor area. The service however, I found extremely lacking.

    I attended a dinner in a large group with a set menu. As we were going back and forth between the in and outdoor area, none of us knew when the meals were being served and staff did not let us know. As a result I actually missed one of the courses, as they took it away before I realised it had even been served. When I requested the course (which I had already paid for) I was told I could finish someone else's half eaten serve which was still on the table. I wrote an email to the management to explain what had happened and received the rudest response I have ever seen. They actually said "I do find it quite hard to respond to your letter" and refused to offer a replacement meal because it was my fault for being outside in the first place.

    I would recommend Pig and Whistle for their food but not their service. And keep in mind, if anything goes wrong and you need to complain, it will fall on deaf ears.

    This is a great restaurant. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming and the food is AAA+++. Great for Sunday Dinner, but book in advance because they get very busy. Christmas in July should always be celebrated at the Pig & Whistle!
