I've always found the food and the service to be pretty good. I think the thing I like the most is it's pretty casual and laid back, and for it's prime location on Eagle Street this makes is very unique.
Every time I've been here the atmosphere has always been upbeat, friendly and welcoming. In the week you're most likely to find office-types here, winding down for the day. It seems as though everyone here is looking for one thing; to relax, have a couple of bevvies, maybe a meal and have a good time. OK, maybe that's more than one thing! The warm environment is very welcoming from the beginning with its 'Ye Olde English' theme.
I attended RSVP's QLD's Hottest Tradie Finals here with some girlfriends. The place was packed but the bar staff seemed to accommodate pretty well and the DJ afterwards kept in line with the mood and mainly female clientele with some fun 80's and 90's tunes, slowly moving on to more up to date dance music.
We ordered some finger food between the four of us, which was a generous portion (for the one meal) and help curb the appetite we had. The calamari rings and chips are definitely recommended! We received the food in well enough time and the waitress was very friendly.
Tradie or not to perv on, I'll still be going here again and recommend you try it at least once if you haven't already!
We went for the RSVP Hottest Tradie event that was on during the week. Overall had a lot of fun, service was pretty good, very friendly bar staff and the DJ was pretty good for ultra girly crowd except for the fact they played Peter Andre's Mysterious Girl twice. I had it stuck in my head for hours (that is never a good thing)! Food wise the calamari and chips we had were very very tasty! I would go again for sure. Great location!
It's a great location - right near some night clubs and a taxi rank for those bigger than expected nights! Good food, alright service, meals are huge. All is quite reasonably priced so there's no excuse not to go.
Location, Location, Location. Right down near the river this pub has heaps of charm and character. Enjoy inside or outside in the beer garden. Great meals that are reasonably priced. Drop in and you wont be disappointed.
