The Pineapple Hotel in Kangaroo Point is so named because of the fluoro piece of fruit that graces the entrance of this contemporary establishment. Went for a meal on a Sunday night and was not impressed. I ordered snapper, chips and sald. I asked for a potato instead of the chips and ended up with vegetables. Of course, when I say vegetables, I mean green beans and carrot sticks the size of small sapplings. The snapper was overcooked and dry, the presentation of the meal was appalling and its value ($28) non existent. My partner bought the 200g steak for $30 and received the same crappy vegetables and solitary potato. An absolute rip off - if you want a decent pub meal go elsewhere.

Good place to dine although my husbands steak was a little on the small size and staff weren't sure of the correct size of his steak.

The pineapple hotel would have to be one of the best places for a steak in Brisbane, although it's on the main road, there is a massive park right next to the hotel for the kids to play in and if I remember correctly, the bar have a few frizbees and things that you can take into the park for a bit of fun in the afternoons.

My daughters and I dined at the hotel several weeks ago and found the food to be absolutely delicious and cooked to our liking.The kids menu could be more expansive or a better idea would be to have some of the adults menu downsized for young children at the same kids price.All in all,it was a good experience and the staff were great.

Check out the new bar, designed by James Forbes, which overlooks the park. There’s also a new glasshouse beer garden, fully air-conditioned with a kids’ playground and menu. This is a family-owned and operated hotel, and the award-winning steakhouse specialises in MSA-endorsed prime and aged beef, matched by an excellent wine list. Try Nolan Meats Private Selection 700g T-bone or wagyu sirloin. There are also meals for those who prefer fish, chicken or vegetarian options. Mains average: $25.
