Such friendly people and such great service. Then the food... it is a place with few equals

Can I recommend that you never, ever, eat at Plaka Greek Restaurant in Ivanhoe. Unless of course you've got an hour and half to wait for your main, you enjoy having no beverage service and your nights out are best topped off with rude waitstaff.

We went to Plaka last Thursday for the first time and we will be back. Although large there was a small feel about the place and the smells from the kitchen wet your taste buds while you peruse the menu. We had the large pepper stuffed with feta to start and that was presented in a tomato based sauce with a beautiful combination of herbs. We followed with the Seafood Platter for two and this lived up to it's name. Plenty of seafood cooked to perfection and the calamari was not drowned in breadcrumbs, something that a lot of restaurants fall down on. Soaking the sauces up with bread completed the meal for us, but there were the usual selection of deserts available for those who could fit more in.
