Pondok Selera at Dixon St Food Court is perhaps the best Indonesian food-court-type shop I could find in the Sydney CBD / Haymarket area. The food court itself might not be one of good atmosphere (for me, it is one of the least appealing food courts I have ever been) but Pondok Selera is definitely a diamond in the rough. It serves an extensive range of Indonesian dishes -- which is very plenty considering the amount of dishes across the different cultures of Indonesia and they are cooked to order so it is always fresh.

On my last visit to the shop we ordered stir fried water spinach with prawn and it was an excellent dish and very authentic. We also had steamed deboned fish wrapped with banana leaves this too was very authentic and a delicious one.

You can hardly find these types of dishes elsewhere, and to have them at food-court price is really favourable.

If you are pressed for time, then you can also have three choices meal with rice, which is also good value for money.

It's not the prettiest restaurant, but it's genuine tasty Indonesian food. The Soto Ayam there is just like I've eaten at roadside stalls across West Java. Recommended!
