Named after a legendary female figure from the middle ages, Pope Joan is headed up by Matt Wilkinson (ex head chef Circa) and Ben Foster (manager Kent hotel) - both experienced hospitality players. Stylish and comfortable with a retro edge, this new cafe is bound to wow locals with seasonal dishes prepared with skill by Wilkinson. Start your day with crumbed coddled egg, anchovy and black pudding salad or a posh toasted sandwich with pickled green tomatoes, salami and cheese.

The best roast chicken sandwich you will ever have... complete with stuffing. Delicious and filling, & all for the meagre sum of $9! Bargain. Yummy homemade style cakes & muffins also. Hummingbird cake is lovely - just like Nan's! For all the staff though, service can be a little negligent at times. Nice deck/courtyard on a sunny day.

Amazing breakfast menu - highlights such as poached fruit, rice pudding, banana bread and a dish that sounds ominous but is a taste sensation - anchovy salad, black pudding topped with a crumbed coddled egg!
