Poppys has always enjoyed a loyal following in Balmain. Some people keep coming back even when they move as far away as Orange, Melbourne and even Paris (you know who you are.....). Why? Because we care. We care about you, we care about the coffee we serve you, we care about the food we create for you. We care about the experience you all create for each other at our big dinner table or on our red leather couch as you gaze up the street, people watch or steal a kiss from your better half.  We will get to know your name and probably your coffee after just a few visits. Our attitude is friendly, we want you to love our coffee as much as all our regulars do.  Among our regulars are rowers, cyclists, walkers, runners, parents and hungovers. The common thread is they are all coffee lovers. If you want a great coffee experience come and visit us.

    I just love visiting Poppys, the staff are always friendly, the coffee is by far the best in Balmain and the food is delicious. I could eat the Poppys breakfast sandwich every day of the week.

    As a local tradesman there's nothing better then being able to buy a coffee at 6.00am for those early jobs, with a friendly smile and staff remembering your name not much more is needed for a positive day ahead. Their home made muffins or a bacon and egg roll with scammled eggs is all I need to proceed with my day.

    Love this cafe, always lovely coffee but really it's the friendly staff and locals who make this place a gem. Read the paper with the sun streaming in and watch the world go by.

    Poppy's is such a warm, friendly and inviting cafe in Balmain. I would highly recommend it for that perfect cafe breakfast, or if you are simply popping past to grab a coffee. The staff are always friendly and welcoming - once they know you they know your coffee - great service!
