    Hello,
    Went here with a friend on Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The food was good too but the service even better. Would come again and hopefully work my way throu the dessert menu.....well the rest of the menu too. Would like to thank Chris our waiter for the wonderful service. Cheers buddy!

    I can't rate this restaurant highly enough. EVERY time I have eaten there, I have received amazing service, absolutely DELICIOUS food and the dessert menu is to die for.
    I have taken friends, family and colleagues to Portofino and many have returned several times since.

    Unfortunately I wasn't very impressed with this restaurant. My sister-in-law took us here for my birthday dinner. The staff were friendly upon arrival and seated us on the top part of the restaurant. Two of us ordered a pasta dish each and one the mussels. Honestly for an Italian restaurant located within the Italian precinct of Norton St the food was very average. The mussels were very small and the sauce was literally cooked pasta sauce - no herbs or anything. The side dish of bread was that hard that I thought I was going to lose a tooth. Although the pasta dishes were quite nice in flavour for the price we expected them to a be a little bigger than the entree serving that we got.
    I can't fault the service as the staff were very friendly and attentive but the food unfortunately is very mediocre for the price.

    Love love love the food!! Went there for the first time last week & was blown away by the quality. As a vegetarian I found a good selection to choose from & the deserts are seriously to die for!! Great atmosphere & service & did I mention the food??

    I had a mixed experience with this restaurant. The manager seemed very friendly and accomodating when a group of 8 of us plus a pram turned up at 8:30pm on a Thursday night. He found us a table with a spot to put the pram.

    The food was then absolutely amazing! I had the Meditterano pizza, so if you're a vegetarian it's definately the way to go. Everyone else had good reviews on their food too.

    But then the bill came. We found a bottle of Pelegrino water for $7 had been added to the menu when no one had ordered it. In fact, it was still sitting on the table undrunk! The total for the four salads worked out to be more expensive than what it said on the menu as well. We politely told the waitress and she happily sorted it out for us.

    We were content with this and happy with the overall experience until this point, but as we were leaving we heard a staff member complain, 'I'm really nice to them and this is how they repay me!' I'm sorry, but we had simply checked the bill and paid for what we ordered.

    Apart from that, it's a great place to dine. Just double check the bill!

    love the food and atmosphere here. You will never leave this place feeling hungry. Great value for money. it is very popular so you will need to book on the weekends. The service and staff are great.

    This is such a wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. The food is delicious, portion sizes generous and the prices are definitely worth paying. The service was prompt, and we were not left waiting for our meals. They have a great wine list, with something to suit every dish. This is a wonderful place to go to relax over a great meal.

    A cut above the usual Italian pizza and pasta joint, and a stand-out in a crowded market - this is Leichhardt, after all. The service in particular is fresh and fun - the bald bloke alone is worth the price of admission.
