ate here again on a saturday night when in the area, and tried 3 mains meals from the current menu and special board. the first "marinated lamb salad with roast pumpkin, haloumi, olives, roasted capsicum, rocket with spicy mango and coriander dressing" ($28) was good and dressing imaginative and tasty.the 2nd.a "pizza with marinated beef, green prawns, goats cheese, roasted capsicum ($16) was my least favourite of the 3 (although it had adequate/lot more toppings than the usual pizzas you get elsewhere) as the mozzarella cheese base was a bit much for me (just the goats cheese would have been suffiient) The 3rd "salt and pepper calamari salad with asian bean salad with mint and cucumber dressing ($25) was nice too. the "lasagne wth cajun pumpkin, silverbeet, fetta, asparagus creme fraiche, raddichio and pear salad sounded modern, unique, inventive and tempting too. meals were a little pricey for the portion size (still a little hungry after eating a main) but were prepared nice and fast to our tables. the menu is extensive. $8-9 beer pint of coopers and good coffee. service is pub like but again the staff there again tonight were not overly friendly, despite our attempts to be overly polite and friendly ourselves.would dine here again when nearby (have been coming here once or twice a year for many years now when in the neighbourhood, including a wedding here many years ago, which was a great place for a reception)

ate dinner here one friday night and tried the spagetti saffron marinara (seafood was OK - not especially fresh) and expensive for $27. food here is pricey. coffees good. staff on this evening, serving behind bar where you order your meals, weren't particularly friendly (with young family with kids).

still a great old pub with a great view of the exhibition buildings. the food is generally good unless if the menu changes once again. as for the atmosphere, it's a pub with a reception at the back.

Reminds me of an English pub, great ales, and good choice of beer. Love the new and improved reception out the back to!
