If you like Peking Duck, then you must experience this restaurant! The Quanjude chain is a popular Peking Duck chain from China, and this is the first branch in Australia.
The restaurant doesn't stand out in terms of location as it's actually mostly below street level and not all that near many other restaurants or cafes however once you find it, you will be pleasantly surprised by the very intricate Chinese decor.
But of course, you're not visiting for the decor - the peking duck was very tasty and fresh. The duck soup wasn't to my personal liking. The other dishes we tried were deep fried scallops in almonds with mayonnaise, dumplings with rice wine vinegar and a couple of claypot dishes.
The level of service was also very good, and a cute touch was the individually numbered certificate that came with the duck. Ours was numbered over 115 billion. :-)
This isn't a cheap restaurant, however it's probably not as expensive as you might think based on first impressions.
