Just picked up my wedding dress today. They gave me a great deal, and all my alterations where done when I asked for it to be finished. Absolutely in love with it. Fits perfectly. And I have it 2 months before my wedding. Which is great. Staff were helpful and happy. Extremely happy would defiantly recommend. Was a bit put off by all these other reveiws. But they where great!!!

Recently went here for bridesmaids dresses and bow ties for a wedding. Staff were helpful amd friendly when we were looking at dresses and we were offered made-to-fit dresses at a vey impressive price. Once we bought the dresses however, everything changed. First of all, our phone calls were rarely answered, then when they were, we were assured that everything was on track and told a date we could come into the store. On visiting the store, dresses weren't ready, didn't fit and we were told not to return until much closer to the wedding. On our second trip, dresses were at least 3 sizes too big, 3 inches too long and we were blamed, being told we had obviously lost weight. I suppose we shrunk too? Staff was extremely rude, continually made excuses and still didn't have bow ties ready despite being assured they would be. We were promised at least a bow tie by Monday, called Tuesday, no answer, called Wednesday, no Bow ties or dresses for at least another week. Wedding is only 2 weeks away now, not impressed.

I truly wish I had read these reviews before my daughter ordered her formal dress. My suggestion is to AVOID this shop. The order had been in the shop for 12 weeks when we went for the first fitting, most things about the dress seemed ok, at the time except for the fit, so I was hesitant but my daughter paid the balance owing. That was our BIGGEST MISTAKE, the next fitting the dress was in a disgraceful state, it was now too small, this is when the blame was directed at my daughter. The staffs attitude and service had declined dramatically. I was assured that it would all be fixed and ready to be picked up in a fortnight. The dress had not changed at all and the staff tried to tell me I got it wrong and it was another fitting. We were than promised another pick up date, needless to say the dress was again not ready. This resulted in a very angry customer and an altercation with the owner where she refused to supply this dress we have paid for. The end of the story is my daughter demanded her dress unfinished and she has taken it elsewhere.
    Please shop somewhere else!!!!!

Do not have your dress made here!!!
As soon as they have your payment(cash only, efpos not working, load of rubbish) they are no longer polite, professional or caring about you or your garment. The management is an outright rude for requesting customer service and a quality garment.
PS I wanted to give this store a zero rating but the site would not allow this.

I did not purchase my dress from Rare Dare at Stones Corner but I was interested in getting my Bridesmaid's dresses custom made there. To begin with they all seemed energetic and well informed so we decided to get the dresses made there. That was the only time we had a good experience. Once they got our money (cash because apparently the EFTPOS plays up. I just think they don't know how to use it.) it was all downhill.

I bought the men's ties and hankies to match the dresses and was told that they would be made with the off cuts of the dresses. Naturally you would think that if the dresses were made and the first fitting was due then the ties would be done - no!! I then asked for them to be made and ready for the next fitting as I had already paid for them and the boy's needed to arrange their suits with the colour. They could not even provide me with a sample of the colour either.

After the first fitting I had to handwrite the alterations that were needed as none of them could. I especially wrote on the pieces of paper in capital letters "Don't forget the ties and hankies." All dresses had to be altered. None fit at all.

It was hard to get the girls together for a second and third fitting so they ended up going at separate times. The ties and hankies were asked for again and the same result - they were not made. All dresses again did not fit again and had to be altered for a third time.

One of my girls were in tears after she had seen the bald guy as he asked her if she had her period or has she been eating smorgasbord lunches and dinners because the dress did not fit again. He then also said she was a pain in the ass because she had noticed some puckering at the seams. She was very upset. Therefore on the day of my wedding she put up with her hem line being uneven and disgracefully long at the front and too short at the back. She was scared of the comments he would make if she complained.

I rang up to make sure for the third fitting the ties and hankies were there at the shop. Anna assured me she was looking at them right then. My mum went down there to pick them up and they said that they weren't there and to come back when they pick up the dresses. I rang back at the end of my work day absolutely fuming. She then must have called someone to get them in. My ties and hankies magically appeared after yelling at her. But when my BM came to pick up her dress they wouldn't give the ties and hankies to her because they said I hadn't paid for them and couldn't find the two receipt books where it said I had. I then had to go down the next day to prove I have paid for the long awaited ties and hankies.

I highly reccommend you go somewhere other than Rare Dare at Stones Corner. Anywhere would be better than there. Good Luck in your wedding adventures.

This is a great place it was recommended to me by a friend. I am so glad she did as I think they are marvelous. I had my dress bridesmaids all done in the colours I wanted and at reasonable prices. I am a larger size and had been to a lot of shops with out much success.I was pretty disheartened, many places were unhelpful and rude. Then my friend told me to try Rare Dare and everything came right. They listened, worked out what I wanted, were a lot of fun and refreshing. Everything fitted perfectly I could not have been happier.

I ordered my dress on-line from another country and was really happy when it arrived, I wanted an opinion as to whether anything needed adjusting so took it to Rare Dare,
    BIG MISTAKE.
I tired the dress on and agreed to some slight alterations, I said I wasn't in a hurry and gave them two weeks to do the work which they assured me it wouldn't even take that long. A month later, no one answering the phone, I finally got hold of them and asked how it was going, the alterations hadn't even been done as they 'had so much on'. They assured me it would be ready to pick up on the Saturday, when i arrived the buckle/broach was missing off the dress and there were big scuff marks on it as well as two little chocolate/coffee looking marks. They offered to post the broach to me and assured me that they would get it dry cleaned and 'looking perfect' when i picked it up. Still no one answering the phone, a week later I finally tracked them down and asked them if the dress was ready 'yes, yes its all done', I ask what time they opened on Saturday and they said 9.30am, I advised them I would be there at 9.30am to pick up the dress. I arrived at 9.30am - 'they' were not there and the dress was not there. We went back a bit later and the dress was there but there was a different buckle/broach on it!!
We got blamed for everything, They also said 'well it isn't even one of our dresses and we DON'T CARE'. I asked for the original docket which outlined the work, time frame and price. They didn't care that the dress was still a mess and we were flying out of the country in two weeks. It was, without a shadow of doubt THE MOST APPALLING customer service we have EVER experienced and I will be taking this further. With not one word of apology I now have to dish out another $250 for dry cleaning + any fixes to the alterations they have already made. I just wanted to get my dress out of there before they destroyed it.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO RARE DARE.

We were promised 2 bridesmaids dresses to be completed within 8 weeks - 10 weeks later they had not even purchased the fabric.

We were promised we would be able to check the fabric before they proceeded to ensure it would be the correct colour, they had the fabric cut before we could check and even after we had contacted them to cancel the order since they could not deliver. The staff there actually yelled at me on the phone as they thought we hadn't given them enough time (I had actually given them 10 weeks before I even checked progress - obviously my mistake. I was actually reduced to tears in the shop - this is because they are very rarely in the shop for you to be able to communicate with them.

In the end I said I would just buy the fabric from them and pay for their service thus far. This is when they went ahead and cut the fabric anyway. We had to pay a 50% deposit in the beginning and we ended up losing all of this, although I did manage to get the fabric form them in the hopes of going elsewhere with only 4 weeks to go until the wedding. Unfortunately the 'fabric' was actually just lining as another dressmaker told us.

Pay the extra money and go elsewhere! It's worth it!

I bought my wedding dress from Rare Dare on layby, detailing the alterations I wanted. I was advised to come back closer to my wedding date for my fitting and prior to alterations being made. I returned 3 months prior to the agreed collection date and the alterations had commenced without my knowledge or having being fitted or have completely paying off the dress! The quality of the alterations was poor and loops in the corset were falling out at a fitting. After many other complications - dress not being at the shop for fittings, alterations not being completed by agreed dates, incorrect alterations being made, not returning phone calls and very poor communication, marks appearing on the dress after returning from their dry cleaners - I tried to take my dress elsewhere to complete the alterations but was reasssured they would complete it by the agreed date. The agreed colleciton had come and I collected the dress and failed to check it before leaving the store. It was handed to me in a plastic bag. The alterations had not been completed, the dry cleaning was poor quality overall and pins were still in the dress. A large stain was on the front bodice of the dress and sides. As I had to fly out for my wedding I arranged alternate dry cleaning at my destination, who were horrified by the colouring and quality of the alterations. They did their best but the stain had been set in to the dress. My husband phoned Rare Dare telling them of the problems and we were advised to use Exit Mould on the stain... They did not attempt any type of mediation with me at all. This was the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I highly recommend going anywhere but here for any type of dress - be it formal or wedding. Awful experience. I bought another wedding dress 3 days before my wedding as this one was not worth the trouble to repair. The biggest regret of my life is buying here also! Appalling, stressful and awful. Do not go here.

DO NOT SHOP AT RARE DARE STONES CORNER
I brought my wedding dress from Rare Dare as it was discontinued and that was the only shop I could purchase it from. I was appalled with the service, the inappropriate comments regarding the size of one of my bridesmaid bum, the staff behind the counter telling me my wedding was just going to be the ANOTHER wedding with purple dresses and to some originality needless to say we didn't purchase anything else from this store. When I went to pick my dress up I was told I had to pay the balance in cash, mmmmm who carries around a $1000 in cash. I was handed a hand written receipt with no stamp on it so way of telling who or what it was for, I got handed my dress scrunched up in a plastic bag and when I got home and laid it out it is dirty, my dress looks like it has be worn or dragged along the ground. I have my dress that is the main thing but want to make people aware of this business.
