    I'm very fussy about who I trust to look after my hair and only go to a stylist occasionally (like an average of once every year or two). I booked a trip from Qld to Melb for a visit and stayed at my fav hotel where I expected to be able to go to my favorrite Prahran hair stylist.

    Egad! they had gone! What was I to do, I had been thinking about it for months!

    So with much trepidation, I looked for another salon, determined to get my hair chopped and looking and feeling better by the time I left.

    I studied them all and chose Rare Earth on the back of other positive reviews from around the web.

    I was definitely not disappointed they dealt with me professionally and expertly.

    Considering myself to be quite a difficult client - I can highly recommend you put your trust in them. It has been a few weeks now and I am still feeling great about my new hair style and colour!

    I live in Williamstown, work in the City, and yet wander all the way to Prahan every three months for a cut or color. The late night train trip back to Willie blows and I am often asked, "Why don't you find a new hair salon that is closer." And,I always reply, "because Donna is just that good!"

    When you are new in town, it can be hard to find a good stylist, let alone a truly great one. I was very lucky that Donna had just moved to Melbourne from London, was looking for new customers, and was available when I rang the salon. And guess what - she was fabulous!!

    At the time Donna was working at a salon a bit closer to home, but when she announced she was opening her own salon in Prahan, I followed her without hesitation - because she is just that good!

    First and foremost, she is truly gifted with hair. But as any girl knows, your stylist is so much more than just hair - she is your friend, confidant, and someone who makes you feel pretty and pampered. Donna has it all down, as does Rare Earth. The Aveda products are simply the best for your hair and the entire experience, from the initial massage, to the final blow out is pure relaxation. You can even have a complimentary cup of tea or glass of wine to help you unwind as you read the latest magazines. And when you leave, you will have an extra spring in your step and bounce in your hair - more than enough to endure the long trek back home, even if you are a Westie! Try Rare Earth - you will not be disappointed!

    Beautiful Salon, lovely staff! - It was the perfect first experience. They even gave me a little goody bag to take home. I would definitely recommend Rare Earth to anyone that is in need of a little relaxation and a good blow wave.

    I'm new to Melbourne (and Australia!) and visited Rare Earth after reading all the great reviews... I wasn't disappointed! The staff are really friendly, I was given a glass of wine, head massage and my colour and cut was exactly what I asked for! Would highly recommend thus salon and I've already booked my next appointment :)

    First experience and it was great. There are a few lovely complimentary treatments (massage, tea/coffee, little 'thank you' bag for new clients) but the best part is that the atmosphere is relaxed, stylists down-to-earth and professional and the end result was what I asked for, but better. I'll definitely be booking again.

    Finally I've found the best salon in Prahran! It's been a long-time search, but well worth the wait! Between both the salon atmosphere and the talent of the staff, I've no doubt they've found themselves a new regular. Despite arriving late on a Saturday I never felt rushed, was sipping wine before too long and relaxing, while Ceres, the hair guru that she is worked her magic! Turning my limp locks into voluminous curls. A feat I didn't know possible! Appreciate their hospitality and looking forward to my next appointment!

    Great atmosphere, I've never felt more comfortable getting hair done, I received a friendly greeting when I entered the salon for the first time, my coat was hung, received a massaged, was offered a beverage menu (complimentary) which even had wine, but I just had tea as usual :). I had my hair colored, cut and blowdryed and am extremely impressed with the final result. There was no strong odour coming from the dye when I was waiting to have it washed, it had subtle lovely smell. Despite the 50 min wait to wash my hair, I'm so happy I found this salon and already made my second appointment! I really love how healthy my hair looks and feels.

    I am a huge fan of Aveda products and it is great to see a salon like this in Prahan. I have had my hair coloured, cut and blow dryed many times and enjoy the atmosphere, friendly staff and great results. I have loads of people comment on my colour and tell them to visit! This team knows what they are doing!!

    Had my hair done today and loved it. I booked on-line with my mobile, which made it quick and easy. I liked the the fact that there was no chemical smell that you can sometimes get with other salons. Friendly staff.
