Went back here tonight for a casual dinner and the only WOW-factor I tasted all night was my pepper sauce. The floor underneath our table was covered in sticky soft drink residue and our glasses were chinked and dirty - finger prints on the inside and out. Anyway, we tried to ignore these things and went ahead and ordered. The three of us got mains and a drink each and were thoroughly disappointed with our meals. My friend and I ordered steaks each - I got the 250g rump with chips ($14), he got the same piece of meat with mash ($19) and my hubby got a pizza. Hubby's pizza arrived and it was of a generous serving with lots of meat and pepperoni. The steaks arrived, with flags pushed into them (with a toothpick) indicating how they had been cooked. Medium rare for me, medium well for our friend. We both cut in and were half amused, half shocked at the dry, grey mass of meat in front of us. Mine was almost inedible, but thankfully the chips were half decent. Hubby kept pushing for us to send them back, referred to My Kitchen Rules' number one steak rule: if you give the option, perform! But we plodded along, paid our $60 and left. Yes, the "chefs" are high schoolers and yes it's a bit of an American diner but surely they can do better than this.
