Reviews of Red Orchid Thai Restaurant

I went to this restaurant with a group of friends and when we walked in it looked great - modern but with a touch of sophistication. The staff were friendly and we got seated quickly. They are fully licenced with a great selection of beers, but we were still allowed to BYO our fav wine - no corkage charge - well done Red Orchid. We ordered a lot of food and all dishes were great - the satay chicken was so tender and the sauce was yummy. The mains were presented so well and were very tasty. The chilli fish was so juicy inside - not dry at all. The massaman curry was among the best I have tried. Highly recommend trying this restaurant.

My girlfriend and I went there for dinner with the scoupon that we had bought online on Labour day. Our first impression for the restaurant when we walked in was pretty good, the restaurant's atmosphere is nice and pleasant. We got seated down, and no water was offered, which I really don't like , because I think offering water in any restaurant is a basic thing to do for customers, even if they don't drink it. We made our orders, and the entree chicken wings wasn't cooked through, it was all raw in the centre.(disappointed), and didn't get a sorry for that.in overall, the dishes are overpriced , it tried to be a fine dining restaurant by the way the restaurant was decorated, but a fine dining restaurant does more than that. I ordered a BBQ prawn as my main course(that's what it called main course on menu), and it came up with only 4 prawns on the plate, which was $20. And I asked waiter if the prawns was the main course, they said yes , and I said it doesn't look like a main course to me because the proportion is not the right siZe , and they said OK and walked away:( very rude and unprofessional. And we weren't told the entire time that there was going to be a 10% surcharge until we pay ,we know it's normal to have surcharge on public holiday, but at least notify them at the beginning. In conclusion, we won't go there again because the food wasn't outstanding enough to charge how much it is really worth.

Thank you for your valued feedback as this is our first negative feedback experience and we would like to apologise for the uncooked chicken wings, and hope the replacement was up to your satisfaction.
However, there are a few points that I'd like to point out in regards to your concern:
-There is a drinks and food menu placed on the every table. We normally would ask whether the customer would like any drinks from out drink menu, if not then tap water will be offered.
-We believe that our KING prawns are charged at a reasonable price and are subject to market price changes. As for the pricing of our other dishes, it is our opinion that we offer competitive value for money. Prices are on our website for your information before making your decisions in future.
-10% Surcharge on Public Holiday are standard for most restaurants. There was a sign placed on the counter as you enter the restaurant.
Once again, thank you for your feedback, as this will help us to provide a better service.
