Red Pocket brings upmarket dining to Victoria Street, Abbotsford, which is more renowned for cheap and cheerful cuisine. In plush, oriental surrounds it offers a huge menu of classic and adventurous dishes and a solid wine list.

Red Pocket is expensive and the food utterly unremarkable given the expectations those prices and glamour create.
Noise in restaurants. It's a very subjective subject. Some like a noisy space; others loathe it. For every person - like me - who feels a restaurant is an opportunity for interesting music that augments relaxation, there is another who finds it anathema. We can go around in circles on this until there is a threadbare ring in the plush, oriental carpet at the swank upstairs dining room of Red Pocket, a new and ambitious Chinese restaurant in Victoria Street, Abbotsford. I do hope we won't argue, however, about the appropriateness of children in such restaurants playing loud electronic games at the table.
